Inspiration for a mid-sized victorian formal living room in London with green walls, dark hardwood floors, a standard fireplace, a stone fireplace surround and brown floor.

A quite magnificent use of slimline steel profiles was used to design this stunning kitchen extension. 3 large format double doors and a fix triangular window fitted with solar glass.

Replica Victorian timber block weatherboards to the front facade, new double hung windows, metal lacework and columns to the verandah, replacement of the slate roof with a thoroughly modern and elegant grey colour palette.

A Victorian semi-detached house in Wimbledon has been remodelled and transformed
into a modern family home, including extensive underpinning and extensions at lower
ground floor level in order to form a large open-plan space.

What was once a dark and disused space at the back of the house, has now been transformed into the hub of the family home; housing a generous and sociable kitchen space that can be enjoyed by all.
The incorporation of an extension, has not only provided more space in the room, but allowed considerable amounts of natural light to flow through the space.
The kitchen design was inspired by the Victorian architecture of the property, including the beaded Shaker doors and cornices around the kitchen units, but with a contemporary tone that reflects current trends.
With the non-negotiable width of the room, we had to ensure we were providing enough storage for our clients. To do this, we focused on raising some kitchen units to the ceiling, which not only provided a cohesive design but also allowed for ample storage options.

Designed by RHS Chelsea Flower Show gold medal winner Tom Hoblyn for Harrod Horticultural MD Stephanie Harrod back in 2005. Stephanie’s Kitchen Garden was set up primarily to trial various methods of growing fruit and vegetables and to share the knowledge gained with our customers. It has also given us the opportunity to develop and manufacture products to enable us to successfully grow flavour packed fruit and vegetables.
