A shorter one may work better. 1500 I think is the next generic one down...? The spaces are more for ease of cleaning than personal aesthetics so a 1700 bath with 30mm gap at each end is a bit tight to say the least..... If you want a big bath go with a built in, that way theres no spots to collect dust and dead flies.... free standing ones do look good but they take more cleaning...

Hi kristymacd, after changing my mind many times we went for a built in 1700 bath! Mostly as builder and tiler thought it would be easier to slope the floor properly and I liked the idea of the slightly larger built in compared to the 1590 back to wall. I’m sure a back to wall would’ve been possible and been fine, it all just got a bit hard and I knew both would look good. And I don’t think a back to wall would be any harder to clean than a built in - with a built in you have the hob and tiled face of the bath and back to wall there is the floor either side of the bath - same same! Here’s a pic of ours, not totally finished yet but really happy with it.

i think you need to discuss installation with the manufacturer as the website give general info but no specific details of the width of the necessary surround for the spas you 're considering and although the dimensions shown suggest that they will fit within the available space there still has to be enough room for the surrounds and to have a full size door into the ens and into the toilet and shower ..my last example shows an option for a generous Free standing spa in this range that should still allow use by two people but other brands may offer other sizes that could suit you better

Years ago we built a free standing screen around 3 sides of our pool, It was flush up to the existing timber fence, with 200 x 200 treated pine posts that had framed trellis that was approx 600 taller then the fence. we did it this way so that we had control over the trellis. This was in Sydney, you would need to check with council re boundary fence height and building code. This won't stop noise just visuals, can you get your neighbours approval to build it and let them know that you are prepared to cover the costs this would make it much easier to do. Good Luck
