Thank you, all of you. But Annette, to me the crazing is not at all awesome; it looks dirty. However, after some more googling, I have found a way. Just like treating car duco. 60 grit sanding, then 120 grit sanding, then something else and then metal polish. There is a video on utube; I hope I can find it again. I did not bookmark the site. I have tested a small area with the 60 grit and I can see that this is going to work. But I first have to find a palm sander; hopefully that is something that Bunnings stocks. I will post a photo when I am finished. Inez. BTW: why on earth would anyone manufacture a sink that can not stand hot water. But ? How hot is hot?

I love black sinks but more of a charcoal type of colour. My last house has a granite sink and it always looked newer than stainless steel. A bit of olive oil and it shines and water doesn't stick to the bottom

I only specify an overmount sink for clients if the benchtop surface warrants one. The last time I did was because the client wanted a timber benchtop. I managed to find a beautiful black quartz composite sink that worked well and looked like a feature in the kitchen because it matched the colour of the cabinets. My usual go to sink is definitely undermount because of its aesthetic and practical advantages. Small chips can always be smoothed out if need be but really, there is no substitute for being careful!

I love all this feed back - thank you ladies & gents :) I do think the light and flow would probably work better like oklouise's first post - I concede you are both right. My concern was the depth of the shower - we have a very pokey one at the moment but think I see how to rectify that - tell me what you think? Also I want LOTS of storage and think keeping the storage in the activity with the entrance now up the other end would limit the furniture layouts so I would probably keep that in the entrance hall and still use the nook as is - no doubt they will sit there to do their makeup as the light will be amazing BUT i can imagine the mess will not - haha! I LOVE those doors siriuskey- so grand and impressive but my husband is a lay in bed TV watcher so that would possibly take up too much wall space for his liking - again I giggle ( you have to right?)
