I am not the best person to comment on lights but would a few downlights be the go or one of those integrated heat/fan/light things be best in centre. Also a lot of people have task lighting......so lights just above the mirror for makeup etc. Personally too bright lighting while doing makeup sends me into a spin as I look like i have about a month to live! I hadn't thought of approvals for my proposed window - so thanks for that. Must keep that in mind. My bathroom is very hidden and looks nowhere in particular. It is all looking good. On another note my friend got a heated towel rail and much as I hate wasting power it is fab. Our towels seems to stay dampish in uninsulated BV '60 box in Melbourne. Also i would have a look in bathroom showrooms for some ideas too if you have any handy. Or buy a bathroom specialty magazine. It is going to be so nice this bathroom. What tiles etc?

Oh. Heck this person is not being helped. I agree to not put such a shocking colour on such a huge surfaces, that turquoise would cost a lot of money on permanent fixtures. We need to choose something we can live with a long time and when we want to add vibrant colours choose something as an accessory, like saucepans, or display on shelves. This can be later changed. Have a look at displays or setting in say IKEA at least. Or Domo if there is one in your city. Interior space is what you see every day, every wake up moment and you can get quite sick of it with such a strong colour. Aim for sophistication, easy living. If you are not confident get some pro advice. It is cheaper in the long run.

Hi Julie - thanks so much for your suggestions. The water features look gorgeous and trust my luck to fancy the more bespoke labour intensive options! That said, I think your last post about the screens are a winner! I actually think this is what i will go for against the fence. I had originally considered this about two years ago and was keen to get a fabulous custom screen done (with foliage of Western australian flowers), however it just got all too hard and I didn't know how to source the right custom supplier. I'm going to investigate this option in the first instance. I can also probably back light it as well as I have some outside lights in the garden that i haven't positioned very well previously that I can probably run behind this to give a different effect at night. Thank you for reminding me and sourcing these gorgeous pictures. They look perfect. The rusted look gives colour and texture that I think will look great against green foliage, and if I can back light it - I hope it will look awesome. Have a great weekend.

after pictures below. we have a fixed price contract so no extra cost but I believe the depth of yhe ground and house/conrete path was under estimated hence the need for retaining walls and they have filled the area with pebble to create another step down. I think it looks pretty good actually whats everyone else think? any ideas on how you would use this space? I think it will look better with grass
