i would try to change the bed position to opposite the mirror, even though it would be tight at the end, the doors slide so it would still be easily accessible, and take advantage of the widest partof the room. I would install hanging pendant lights to allow you interesting and practical nit light,it will make the space more adult, add your personality without needing bedsides etc. If possible, make space in your robe by clever storage inserts, and put your chest of drawers in the wardrobe. The wall which is white I would put in horizontal panelling board, which is cheap enough and easy to do, construction adhesive such as liquid nails will bond it, and paint it a dark grey so when you walk in your eye is drawn into the room making it feel wider. Also in this wall wall mount your tv and place a small chair in the corner doesn't have to be an armchair,it may even be a colour dipped stool, just somewhere to sit when you put your shoes on or charge your phone, have a ase of flowers occasionally. I saw an almost identical rug to your picture at Ikea last week, don't know how much though sorry. They also have a chunkier weave which is very nice - 2m x 3m for $150. You could buy 2 and lay them together for a very reasonable cost. I was wafting through Ikea in Brisbane but I am sure their stores all have the same/similar stock. Hope this helps.

Hi all, we have spent winter up north and now on the never ending task of updating our home. Flooring still not changed at this point waiting on tradesmen for ensuite and kitchen update. I have attached photos of the lounge and family/kitchen. Would like some help re colour/fabric for a window seat on the bay window. I did take away all curtains and blinds have been installed. Kitchen cupboards are a salmon colour and the cabinets can still be used with new doors and side panels replaced. I have always been a lover of white kitchens but not sure of colour for splaceback/tiles/bench. One minute I have made up my mind to have wood on all floors except lounge and bedrooms then someone says what is wrong with your tiles it's a waste of money and a lot of work! I am not sure that a white kitchen would go with the current tiles . Any advise would be more than welcome. Sandra (loving Houzz)
