I also have a window like that in our shower - it may, but doesn't normally get wet from the shower. I have put in a thin venetian blind in white (made from plastic) very cheap, under $5. I am in process of making an puffy austrian blind to hang above the window, for a bit of colour I am making it from a shower curtain). It will be there for looks, I may never pull it down. The venetian gives privacy and blocks the light a certain amount.

Since you don't need privacy all the time I will suggest motorised Roman blind, position it high up under the cornice so when it's up it fits above the door, you can choose the width of the folding panels. In addition to this you can have privacy blinds attached to your door panels they could also be on remote control, it cost a bit more but it really is worth it, no cord to pull, it goes up in seconds. This system can be hard wired on your wall like a power point so you never have to replace battery. The other option is also motorised vertical blind like the one pictured here , this way you can adjust light and privacy as you like.

Very unusual window/ door. It would depend on how often you would use the door part. For privacy I would use two sunscreen blinds or one across both window and door so you have privacy during the day and views out . You could have a blockout curtains on top for privacy at night. Luxaflex has up/ down blinds, you can lower them from top or lift it from the bottom but I am not sure about installation on your particular windows it’s a tough one.

Hi Susan I would not specify shutters for louvre windows. Apart from curtains, another possible option would be a blind (roman, roller etc) outside mounted ie on the the wall, as it’s likely that when the window is closed the lever won’t be an issue, but probably will protrude past the window trim when open. A customised solution could be to mount the blind so it protrudes further out from the wall than normal, which has downsides that should be weighed up for your particular situation and desires. Motorisation will take the effort out of opening and closing blinds or curtains, and it is easier for you to decide now for hardwire motorisation before the roughing in stage.
