Thankyou Chookchook2 for recommendations. Clear chairs can work. I have recently painted apartment white. Would like to keep furniture light. I like woods idea too. I am worried the room will feel smaller with velvet grey stud chairs... Thankyou both for your comments. :) I'll let you know what I decide.

What a beautiful room, table is great, I love transparent furniture also it could work well with your room, I can imagine it with your table but a more luxe look could be stainless to blend with benchtops or leather or be brave and mix it up for a more contemporary look, depends on the style you are after, fab room

thanks siriuskey, The timber ceiling that u can see is only in the enclosed outdoor area. Inside the house it is standard plaster ceiling. Here are pics of the living area, it is one huge open room that has lounges and at one end is the dining area, its very hard to define the 2 separate areas!... i have wondered about moving the table to an area we have off the kitchen and putting in a gas fireplace with a mantle where the table is pictured now.. im also looking for ideas for the window treatment if any one has any!!
