Until such time as you can afford to do a full renovation, have you thought of painting the wall tiles? A clean white will make the room look bigger and add colour with towels, etc. From what I could see of the floor, the grout just needs a good clean. Bunnings has a great grout and tile cleaner and a brush on an extendable handle just for the job.

We have that kind of sheeting in our shower... ( If I am thinking of the same thing) its hard to clean and where the joins are and all over is not easy to clean. It kind of looks a bit tacky and dowdy after a while. Have you considered using mini orb or colourbond? Or even pressed tin for a feature. I've had a shower lined with colourbond and it looked really smart and was so easy to clean. It was a quick easy way to update the shower. It was even curved around the corner for a seamless finish.

What type of skylight did you go with. My sisters place has a wall locked bathroom and they had roof window put in. I'm always surprised to find there isn't a light on. A big mirror helps also.

ours is a wall locked room when renovating it had higher ceiling than the wall next to it so we popped in highlight windows on the sides..no need for light during the day..
