Good point Karen. Apologies, oversight from my end! Not sure how tall or how high up your window is near the new shower suggestion, but that said, the shower bays usually work well best in the corners of the bathroom due to glass height and line of sight. Covering a window area could be frowned upon by a potential buyer!

How about something different. Here's a new idea:

Keep the toilet closest to the deck in the same place.

Where the sink currently is, consider a narrower shower bay in this space instead. Either a small corner 850 shower so the door opening does not open directly facing the toilet (with a narrow door panel of 600) or a narrow shower bay 820x820 (but you will be restricted and the door may not open full-span). Or a shower option with stacked doors so you don't need to open the doors within the floor space. I'm taking a guess, but the distance to the edge of the window looks approx. 900 from the corner, hence suggesting a smaller/narrow shower bay so it's not right on the edge of the window.

Then, where the sink originally was, move this further along the wall - pending the type of shower you choose.

Back to where you kept the toilet closest to the deck, you could then put a towel rail (850) next to it, to give you maximum space to try to move around in that floor space near/around shower/toilet area.

Next to the towel rail, you could then turn the bath tub in the other direction, so it runs the length of the long wall. Alternatively, if you want that little bit more space, you could put the towel rails above the bath area? That said, the second toilet closest to entry door will be removed.

Along the 3190 wall, it'd be toilet (700), towel rail (850) and small bath space of only 1640 so the window won't be obstructed. If towel rail above bath, plenty of room for a slightly longer bath.

For the wall running the length of deck, toilet 650 (plus at least 550 clearance in front) and then shower bay (if 820-850) pending type.

You do have the challenge of the windows as they're in both corners of the room and the door is in the third so you really only have one corner left to place the shower - unless it sits in the middle of the bathroom layout, which could be tricky on the eye.

Have you thought about a combined bath and shower if this layout isn't an option?

You will be able to create a "space" in this living room area - you may just need to have side tables selected rather than a coffee table in the middle. I'm sure the stylist can work their magic for you!

You could frost the window (depending on the type and position of window that's there). Lengthen the shower bay as you've drawn so it's not square set and gives the extra room further away from the window. The shower rose should be closer to the entry door end of the main wall of your shower and the taps will be here too. You could consider a recess/niche next to the shower taps so it somewhat keeps you at that end of the shower. Not that you would move about once your shower head is at the other end, but as an invisible boundary I guess. The door entry would be opposite the bath direction in-between the niche and shower rose possibly to minimise water near the window area?

There might be a few other ideas in houzz. Seems like the window in shower space is common with some of the pictures on this site, just depends how you create the space for it to still look fantastic! I personally prefer the first layout between the two (and think the shower/window is still do-able) but it does come to what you will both be happy with as well!

I think your option two is the better of the two, definitely good to make it feel spacious as much as possible! You will just need to re-think your towel rail (if you turn the shower lengthways as the 1200 length will encroach on the existing wall space).

Have brick walls on the corner near the window you're trying to work around and then two glass panels to enclose the remaining shower (so you don't need to add another brick panel next to the toilet). Would you consider the shower rose on the existing brick wall of the window against the 3190 wall?

If you can imagine, this image is somewhat like what you're doing (flipped horizontal so they're on opposite sides of the long walls) however, not such a large vanity/sink and of course the toilet and shower covers part view of the bath tub.

If you worked with option one, you might be tight for space; if shower 1100 wide, brick width at 110 wide (new wall), door at 800 wide spacing either side 85 each side (170) = 2180, the new brick wall and/or re-position of the entry door, may narrow the bathroom rather than feel open. And you're right, if you went with a smaller shower bay, you will be within close reach of the window regardless.

We actually went through a similar sized complete bathroom renovation three years ago - back to brick - and the layout ended up as per your hand-drawing (we only had one window though positioned above the bath). We're now working on a complete house build (from the ground up) so we enjoy looking at floor plans to see how things can fit as we're working through floor plans for all the rooms right now. The Houzz site is fantastic for ideas, advice forums and questions similar to yours as I think there's a lot you can learn!
