We have a glass rangehood similar to Futuro Futuro's Acqualina Glass product and I love it. The top and bottom of the glass gets given a clean about once a week with citrus multi-purpose cleaning spray and then wiped down with a moistened glass cleaning cloth for a pristine finish. Takes around 5 minutes in total. Cleaning the brushed stainless part is more difficult. As mentioned previously, its hard to remove all the marks. Will definately try the WD40. Me, personally, I don't like the mirrored finish. Given the window is acting as the "splashback" I would have gone for something invisible like what Sheryl Horton showed.

You can get slim range hoods that generally fit into the wall cabinets ours were approx 40cm deep which housed the complete operation, our plumber ran a 6 or so inch flexable ducting into the roof cavity and out under the eaves. Most brands make these. Thanks annb we just try not to think about it too much, there's the offending neighbours house of brick then a brick fence 1200 and then 1000 to the front bedroom wall and a step back of approx 3 meters to our dining open plan. We have planted a Ficus hedge on the wall and planted Olive trees in front which we keep trimmed, just a funnel. I think with power costs he doesn't use it so much thankfully, As always thank so much for your support and positive input, Forget the Claytons. x

Hello 61karwin, I do not have a range hood just an exhaust fan. I do not do much in the way of frying, I am however rather good at 'carbon' but find with a good breeze thru from open windows that it is no problem. The fan does need cleaning every now and then but I get a tall person to assist: a young one who is happy to get onto the bench! I do not see a problem unless your home is not well vented and you like cooking hot chips! Cheers Margot
