Definately tiles but I would tie them in with the black windows. There are some beautiful tiles out there with black in them. Also they would look great as waterline tiles. Not a lover of fully tiled pools unless they are something very special. we had a friend who lived in Corfu and he tiled his entire pool and on the bottom put his wife's initials, not suggesting this just an example.

Go with fully tiled - we went further and used glass tiles - but all one colour - then you don't have too many features competing against each other. Fully tiled will help with maintenance and longevity as well. Yes the expense is there initially - but the look along with the maintenance benefit you will not regret!

I used a medium blue (happy with that) - but if I was to do again I would try for an even lighter blue. Initially when looking we looked at the common medium to dark blue (but not the dark one) in ceramic - but am glad we went for lighter in glass.

In the sun the tiles shimmer. Either way ceramic or glass -- it is the better way to go rather just having them around the top. I think if I went lighter the pool would look bigger. Our deep end is 1.95 (water level) and 1.5 (water level) at shallow end.... we put jets into the swimout as we didn't have space for spa - the pool people suggested that - it is good idea. I used the outside floor tiles (black granite) for the steps instead the pool as well.

Sorry but the water line blue and white flowery tiles look old fashioned and if you're going for that kind of sandstone on the top it won't go with the terracotta tiles you have already Do like the pool and tiles that Hayda Natural Stone have posted Very nice!

I don't mind the Spanish style tiles at all, but feel the rough edge on the sandstone would be uncomfortable if resting there, or chatting.
