An electrician can hard wire it and run the cord out the base. Just turn the cord hole to back and silicon closed. Or get custom made

I can see quite a few on the website that would work. I like the ones that look like a tall barrel too, and they fill a corner nicely, but I'm not sure if they are so good for reading, and they might put a glare onthe tv? I hope someone else chimes in with some thoughts.

Hi Kate, The corner in the first image is perfect for a floor lamp! Or a plant If you are sold on a lamp on the entertainment unit, I wasn't sure these existed but I thought some rock lamps would look cool and found some. I feel like you need some sort of boulder or rock looking lamp to own that space, a small lamp will look lost. \

He is a talented young man, sounds like he is a budding young designer, I think a black lamp would look very stylish, a patterned rug under bed could blend beautifully with his bedding, a warm throw blanket, an artwork either purchased or created by himself and an architectural plant and planter could just set off the room, lovely to see him so interested in helping to design his space.
