It all looks like it is coming together nicely. I would suggest moving into the 'black' metals for the chandeliers and sconces and more into the blacks for the dining suite. This will bring some drama and depth to your scheme, providing the elegance.

Hi there, I really like what you have there. You have many options that will require little work to make this space wok beautifully. Agree with Brilliant Ideas and Kerry - changing the mirror position and adding a hanging feature like a pendant will make a lot of difference already. From what I can guess looking at your image, even a slim table would fit better under the mirror on the other wall. In addition, you can include another hanging feature higher to make the ceiling look more interesting. E.g. 1 or 2 spotlights, hanging plants as simple as a Spanish moss. After that, is just dressing the furniture with small decor. Personally, I like clean, relaxed and easy to maintain spaces. Not sure about the correct colours, but here are some ideas for you: Light pendant to match your mirror colour and dining set style. Spanish moss can be hanged with a small hook. Minimum care required. Slim table - you can use a chest of drawers like this one... Slim table - or go for something a little different if you don't need extra storage... Hi new to all this but thought I'd pass on some fan tips; Be very selective of the shape of the fan blades. They all look stylish but in my experience the flatter the blade the less air they move. We have now gone back to the original metal fans with the blades that bend at the edge, http://regencyfan.com/industrial, our fans are more stylish than the one shown (the blade shape is nice and clear in this example). Our weather in no where near as warm as yours I'd hate for you to make the same mistake we made, twice, before we learnt. Look at the fans motor size, some of the expensive and lots of the cheap ones have small motors that don't last long, unfortunately price does not dictate quality in this case so don't get caught out. My husband is a mechanic and this is one of his "things" when every we shop for electrical items (drills, fans, pumps etc.) always make sure the motor is quality and large enough to do the job and last. How may speeds. We have 8 fans in our home, one is in our extension and was purchased at a different time; It's low speed is realllllllly slow the next one is so fast it's like a cyclone and I'm not game to try the third one in case it dismounts from the ceiling. Be careful not to mount fans too close to down lights or you get a flickering effect caused by the blade passing over the light. Try not to mount the fan directly over the dining table as it will cause food to go cold. I'm with mydesignobsession when it comes to style/look I prefer visitors see my wonderful eclectic decoration then my ceiling fans! Good luck

Your industrial style lighting is at odds with the glamorous pendant for the dining room, and will detract from this feature. Your kitchen will be dark as it is a long way from a window for natural light. I would actially consider installing a Velux skylight above your island bench to bring some light into the kitchen. I would make any pendants above the kitchen bench as neutral and simple as possible so they are easy to clean and detract from the dining pendant. If you are going to include recessed downlights then do your research on the LED fittings that are sealed at the top to prevent heat loss/gain from the ceiling space if you are a single storey at the rear.
