After selling ovens for 10 years, I received a lot of hands on training and feedback from customers. Which is why I would strongly advise against Westinghouse ovens. F&P is a step up, but Bosch is a jump up! I personally would buy Miele, for ease of use, ease of cleaning, cooking performance, aesthetics and the best quality. However, if the budget won't allow for Miele, Bosch is the go. You can't argue with German quality. For extra cooking capacity, consider a 70cm wide oven or a double wall oven or 2 x 60cm ovens. Just make sure you are sure you really do need it before spending the extra money. By using the functions properly and cooking on multiple shelves at the same time, you can easily cook for a crowd in a 60cm oven. With a decent oven you can even cook various dishes with various flavours, at the same time. I have done it on many many occasions.

Hi, I have to agree with rwalton5 with regard to the use of space set aside for the boot/ bag area. While the idea of the area is great, it really needs to be located in a more appropriate area of the house. Perhaps in the entry or laundry area. I do have a suggestion for your choice of fridge. I own and operate an Agri tourism business and was suprised when setting up a commercial type kitchen at the reasonable cost of commercial fridges. These fridges are built to take the wear and tear of busy kitchens with multiple users, much the same as a large family. I was able to store large water containers with tap, large platters and large plastic tubs to house fruit and vegetables. I can remember thinking at the time how ideal this option would be for a large family. I was able to install a much larger commercial fridge at a lower price than I could buy from a regular retailer. My thoughts are that you would then be able to fit a large chest freezer in your butlers pantry. While chest freezers are not fashionable, they provide the room you require for buying / freezing bulk groceries. Good luck with your plans!

After recently completing a large kitchen ourselves from scratch my advice is this - DONT SETTLE! If something is niggling you stay on it. With all the myriad of cabinet sizes now available there will be a solution to fit your space. Don’t be rushed into settling. Just because your kitchen designer is a ‘professional’ does not mean he knows better then you how you will use your kitchen. It’s YOUR kitchen after all and you will be the one cooking in it for many years to come when he is long gone. Your instincts are right - cluttering up a window is always a bad idea. A centred tap looks better and more regal.

Full residential underbench drawers are better for you, less noise. Not many options though. Williams / Skope only has the 2door - 3door - 4door type but they look very commercial, mostly stainless or glass door only.
