Redesigning our house including kitchen, two bathrooms & laundry. Ideas?
Comments (53)Thanks Jayme, I get what you mean, it's just not really practical for our house & will make the renovation a lot more difficult & expensive if we start moving walls like the to gain an extra couple of feet. It's possibly a load bearing wall too. But that area which is currently our kitchen where we are thinking of putting the fire place isn't the main living area, it's basically the centre of our living area which is a long room from one end of the house to the other, so we were thinking having the fire there will warm the house better being that it will have the kitchen & dining table one side of it & the lounge the other side. I think we could it a couple of cozy arm chairs & a small coffee table or we could just put a love seat up against the section of wall opposite the fire?...See MorePlease help with design ideas for our rumpus room
Comments (13)I would do the full wall storage and I wouldn’t put the sofa against the back. The room is quite long so I add a 1/2 height nib wall parallel to the sliding door but leaving room to walk in and though. The TV then goes against the nib wall with the sofa facing it. Then in the space behind the sofa you can add a work table....See MoreYour thoughts on our house redesign?
Comments (48)The width of the laundry is 1.6m as my assumption is that bench/storage will be .6m with 1m for the path. The length of the laundry is about 3.5m and powder will be 1.2m. We like the idea of having the powder room there as it's quick access for visitors when we're entertaining. Where on the outer building would you suggest? By storage I was referring to linen mosley too, just in case there was some confusion....See MoreRaising our cottage & building under: floor plan ideas please
Comments (14)moving the stair doesnt help the existing upstairs if your plan is to not change much. the living area would reduce from 3.5 to 2.5m width and would limit options unless you want to use this space as office/playroom. the existing door would have to be relocated to bed 1 and the green line is an existing beam which looks to be tight on the 12th stair down which is usually the minimum head height clearance....See MoreEdita Urbelyte
