Comments (3)It all depends on the style and your styleAs qoqo states above, colour and pattern can work (but can clash or give headaches in the long run)If it is understated - an understated carpet can work as well (like the second post of qoqo): a neutral more classic look would be a plain rug: avoid traditional persian rug designs unless you like this Victorian lookhttps://www.houzz.com/photos/traditional-music-room-traditional-living-room-san-francisco-phvw-vp~1359334...See MoreKitchen, bathroom & laundry - Do they need the same colour scheme?
Comments (18)@jmm1837, My appologies firstly to the author for being off topic. One house I lived in didn't have plaster anywhere, just pressboard for walls, the stuff notice boards are made from, so we wall papered as paint soaked in by the bucket load. then lived in a caravan and now a little relocatable cottage, a glorified caravan without wheels I say but now hubby and I are building our dream home, I have no decor or design education and have simply done my best with the plan and now the build. Great advice about making the home, warm, comfortable etc...and I'm doing what I want and not following trends BUT unfortunately at times I am truly paralized by indicision, too many choices of everything from interior colours to simple door handles and when I put my head down to sleep, my mind goes into overdrive, sleeping at times only a few hours a night ha-ha Still enjoying the process but it isn't that simple to follow your suggestions!!! I'm sure as the home progresses, with less decisions to make, it will become easier....See MoreWhat sort of blinds and what colours???
Comments (12)I have a similar family room, with big windows and a sliding door and we have block out Roman blinds on them. They sit at the top of the windows most of the time as we don't have any privacy issues with being looked in at by the neighbours. We really only put them down at night in the winter. Ours have a creamy coloured background with taupy wavy lines on them. Very neutral. I never could have imagined that's what I wanted til I saw the fabric. Good luck I'll see if I can find a photo to post....See MoreWhat sort of pantry door would you advise in our renovated kitchen?
Comments (3)What a lovely kitchen. Good idea to match to window and bi-fold. Gorgeous splash back tiles and the black pendants are perfect. I also spotted the clever used of space with the bank of drawers in wall between oven and L-shaped counter....See MoreClever Closet Company
