Worst habits of your visitors
Comments (82)I'm lucky, nobody dares mess with my place the one that do depart immediately.... Friends dont wreck you place they treat it with respect and if they cant they you dont need them in your life..... Sounds hard but it work, People know the guidelines in my house/yard, I respect their places and if they cant respect mine, dont bother coming... Probably the worst I ever had was a nephew who was bossing the younger children and not letting them have a turn on the trampoline, woke me up I was sick in bed and I got out of bed when they woke me up and heard the language, the rest of the family were outside my bedroom. Nephew didnt know what hit him verbally, [did apologise later] and went running to mum, who told him I was the boss as it was my house and she wasnt there so couldnt comment. Didnt like me for 3 days until he wanted to come up again to ride the dirt bikes around the paddock, Was an instant when parents, grandparents etc, dropped their guard and no one was supervising....... I was one pissed off person, being woken up, bad enough having to be so ill on birthday, everyone else celebrating and kids acting up.... But we are still best friends and nothing else has happened before or after....See MoreHOUZZ CALL: What strange household habits put Australia on the map?

It isn't people like me. lol oh and i don't think we have balmain bugs....See MoreWhat's appropriate pocket money these days?
Comments (15)We give our kids, aged 12 and 10, $7 a week (or $1 per day). There are certain chores they are expected to do, including making beds, packing and unpacking school/sport bags, hanging school uniforms after school (or putting in laundry), vacuuming weekly, setting table for dinner, and homework. They know if they don't do these chores on a particular day, or require reminding to do their chores, they lose $1. We also give bonus money for showing extra initiative which is paid with pocket money on the weekend. This system is the only one which works for our kids, they look forward to the $7 +/- and the surprise of bonus money. We pay for lunch orders etc, for them. However, if they want something particular, we encourage them to use their pocket money to purchase it. It works for our family!!...See MoreHelp save my indoor plants!
Comments (6)Hi, Most plants (indoor or out) will 'shut down' if they're in a constantly windy spot - they literally close their stomata to stop all the water evaporating from their leaves. They can also become dehydrated very quickly just from the warm air causing water to evaporate from the soil. So relocating your philodendron should be priority number one. Once you've done that I'd recommend some gentle TLC: put your finger into the potting mix to see if its dry under the surface, and if so give your plant a thorough water, making sure the pot drains well (you don't want the plant sitting in water, which will rot any new roots). Then find a warm (but not drafty) spot with the best light you can. You may also want to try a little bit of liquid fertilizer - I'd apply this at half the recommended strength as you just want your plant to recover at this stage rather than put out lots of new growth. If the cutting is still rooting, you could also prune it as it looks like there's quite a bit of plant above the soil compared to what's going on under the soil. Good luck!...See MoreHal Braswell Consulting
