You can also select the shutters to have two parts in one panel also for the ones down the bottom - so half way have one part (of one so its not two different ones) you can shut completely and the top part you can adjust to still see but with complete privacy in the bottom (you could have in the morning when lying in bed), or you open and shut them around the same amount. I did that in my hall way so that I can completely close the bottom half but the top part of the same shutter I can open slightly for the light etc etc but still have privacy. Shutters give you so many possibilities for privacy, lighting etc depending on the person....See MoreOur purple guest room

Comments (3)Your curtain or blind choice really depends on what look you are trying to achieve and whether or not you need your window treatments to provide a thermal block. My first thoughts are sheer linen curtains in a mushroom or beige colour, similar to your lounge to soften the dark window frames and leather couch....See MoreWindow Treatments for Sliding Balcony Doors
Comments (6)Hey there Amy Williams, we may be slightly biased but we're huge fans of block out roller blinds (especially on the weekend when we're needing some sleep). Would you consider having both the sheer curtain, and the roller blinds? The sound of the roller blinds as the breeze blows can be easily fixed by sticking some small foam bits on the parts of the blind that come into contact with the window edge. This way you get the best of both worlds - the romanticism of sheer curtains, and style and functionality of block out roller blinds. Hope this helps Amy! Do share your final outcome - would love to know what you decide on....See Morejuliahocking
