POLL: What is the floor in your living room?
Comments (9)Carpet. Ugly, grey, literally-threadbare carpet. It is something we intend to get rid of, but carpet here isn't easy, in choice or available installers. But we'll go again with it, with something industrial-strength like we had at a previous house, a warm, dark brown most likely, to deal with the dogs and the dirt and the everything else that still manages to get inside past the mudroom....See MorePOLL: Have cookbooks gone out of fashion?
Comments (22)Cookbooks will live forever in my kitchen. I will always clip recipes from mags, papers etc. to put in my organised folder. You have to file anything you print out online & sometimes with the picture & that's if you can print it out. So I say keep those cookbooks they are always so well presented and a pleasure to look through. Mine have little sticky notes everywhere, for recipes I have yet to use. I also collect recipes from the Coles & Woolies books at the checkout. If I like the sound of it I keep it....See MorePOLL: Tapware colour. Matte black, chrome, white, rose gold, other?

Comments (10)Thank you to all who took the time to comment, I greatly appreciate it. The Timber feature is outstanding and I spend a lot of time and looked to thousands of pictures until I reached this design, you can see the timber going on the display cabinet too. The kitchen maker and designer advised to go for a glossy Splashback "Grey Beige" only for practicality as she said cleaning the Matte is a nightmare. Also The splash back specialised lady told me that in her 13 years working in this industry only twice she installed Matte splash back because it is difficult to clean and the colours are not as intense and beautiful as the glossy. As Gary mentioned I was thinking initially to get the same caesar stone to go up as a Splashback but I ruled it out because of the cost (it cost $6000 more than the glass) By the way the Matte will also cost me $1500 more than the glossy as it needs a special treatment. Now I have selected two colours in Matt (Attached Photo) and asked the Splashback company to send me samples on Glossy also to send me a blank glass sample which I can paint it with colours samples I bought from Bunnings and then I will decide....See MoreCountry Image
