What did you notice first about this great Swedish apartment?

Swedish styled apartments offer a fresh, bright approach to interior design that many countries are influenced by. You can see similar Scandinavian touches in the work of many Australian and New Zealand interior designers - a simple functionality, muted tones, honest materials and clean lines.
The project below is a good example of this.

Comments (34)The next time I decorate by a colour of the year will be the first time. Don't hold your breath. I have nothing against this particular colour but it doesn't work with all the things I've collected over the years, and I am not about to discard carpets bought after hard bargaining with dubious merchants in Istanbul or Islamabad because they don't "go" with a paint colour that someone voted "colour of the year." In its place, I think the colour would be quite nice (better than this years choices, certainly). Comments (17)Well the first part is done - we have white walls! Amazing what a coat of paint does. The kitchen will have to wait a bit with us both slammed at work, but at the very least the paint job has made it a far nicer space for guests. We'll update the lighting and paint the kitchen cabinetry and tiles (leaving the benchtops) - still contemplating changing the floors in the kitchen/sitting space as the juxtaposition of cork and carpet is hideous, but we'll see.
