Hi Kirsty, could you please advise the colour of your vanity and whether it is a custom made one and if not, could you let me know its name and where you bought it. Also, what is the colour of your floors tiles and where did you get them from. (I have come to the conclusion that charcoal/dark grey tile plus a much lighter grey tile plus white on some walls plus a timber vanity or timber accessories in bathroom , plus white (or close to it) below sink counter top is the way to go for a beautiful bathroom. The trick is figuring out exactly what proportion of each colour to use and where to put them for each particular layout.

Not sure what light shade is on the roof at the moment. Have always done white or a shade of white while living around Queensland. It made a huge difference not having to use air-conditioning or fans as much. Because you already have dark brown walls penetrating heat, I would have a light colour on the roof. White reflects heat. Considering winter is not very long, I would choose a light colour as there is more heat most of the year. You can get roof paint coloured, maybe in a white with a hint of oyster. Blues are in, so if you like blue, maybe colour the gutter in very deep dark ocean blue. Don't like blue, so maybe dark grey on the gutter. Maybe then paint 2/3rds of the brown walls and leave some original brick walls as features.

So I have decided against doing a feature wall on wall running alongside shower as it will make the room too dark. Instead the feature tiles will be on the wall behind the shower mixer. I am now in a quandry re the vanity wall. The floor will be light grey concrete style tiles, walls satin white and the ceiling is a raked ceiling made from baltic pine which over time has gone orangey tone. Do I get a plane white vanity, charred oak timber look (grey), another timber tone? I have decided on 1200 mm wall hung vanity but need help on colour and whether or not I put a mirrored cabinet on wall above vanity also. I originally had decided against any cabinetry above the vanity.

I should of urgently mentioned before. WHY has the tiler put the narrower tile on the top of the hob. This should be the widest tile, and the side tiles go under that top tile. The way that those tiles have been laid is just opening up for a whole lot of mould wanting to cling to the grout on the top of hob. I have drawn this sketch and a photo to explain.
