Air condition is called aircon, the combo air conditioner & heaters that you hang high on a wall are called swingers. Countertops are called benches, yards are called a gardens, closets-wardrobe, bonus room-rumpus room, hardwood floors or any wood is called timber. Living in the country is living in the Bush. Carpenters are called a Chippy, electrician -Sparky, brick layer-bricky, plumber-dunny driver. Downtown is called CBD. Neighbor is spelled neighbour. If a room is painted and decorated in updated colors & pattens they are called “Fresh”. If a house is updated in higher end-sophisticated materials it’s called “smart”. Fittings-are basically light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, appliances. Color is spelled colour. Picture rails are still pretty common. Queenslander-is a traditional style of home in Queensland that has a bungalow/Victorian/country/cottage feel. “security screens” are popular on windows & doors-which is a metal lattice. Full fences around your property are also popular.

I personally think that if you go with a corner lounge in this area it will take up a lot of space the rooms that Luke has shown...sorry Luke cut they are way bigger that 2.9 x 3 meters. but if you could get a small modular as Luke says you can separate the pieces that could work. You don't say how old the kids are.... If you have young kids you could get away with things like bean bag chairs and individual seating. I would put shelving and around the TV which I would install in the middle of the blue wall which can be open backed so you can still see the blue wall...and for small kids...use the cane basket and for the big kids...leave it open for their cds and consoles and things. Just think about installing a couple of power points into this unit...Kids always need them. Hope this helps...Robyn

Ok, don't like the dark cushion, don't like the TV in the bedroom. You could go for pendant lighting using the same 'material' as the mirror? If you went for larger beside lamps while you have that mirror there, they would be fighting each other. In the programs I watch, they say to have 'a hero in the room'. In this case the mirror is the hero I think. Also the extra throw cushion for the bed could match one on the chair, so it ties in (or don't have one at all on the bed). If you did need a TV what about having one installed on the wall to the right of the chair,(looking at the photo) and make sure it can swivel out, so when you aren't watching TV in bed it can be against the wall, out of the way. Then you can have a lovely (glass) ornament or two, or a bunch of flowers sitting on it along with your photos. I love how you have your bed dressed, spot on! (without the dark cushion) I absolutely adore the blue shades in the duvet cover and I would draw those out into the room. Love that you have opened up your windows in the lounge. Maybe a throw rug and some colourful (same colours as in the duvet cover on your bed) cushions on the lounge suite as nothing is really popping! There doesn't seem to be any colour except for the flowers and the photos. Colourful paintings on the wall would be lovely too. Maybe the potted plants could be in coloured (as in your duvet cover) pots instead of white. I know you weren't asking about the lounge and if you are happy with it, then that is all that matters. Hi analisa86 checked out your previous thread and it seems as though you'll be using this room just for adult time as the rumpus room is right next door. Your sofa-chair-ottoman arrangement is pretty formal, and your sectional layout way less so. If your adult time is sit up conversation drinking wine then your first plan would work best for you. If your adult time is blog out recovery on the sofa watching movies then your sectional would work best. Not in Sydney so can't advise stores!
