Ok, don't like the dark cushion, don't like the TV in the bedroom. You could go for pendant lighting using the same 'material' as the mirror? If you went for larger beside lamps while you have that mirror there, they would be fighting each other. In the programs I watch, they say to have 'a hero in the room'. In this case the mirror is the hero I think. Also the extra throw cushion for the bed could match one on the chair, so it ties in (or don't have one at all on the bed). If you did need a TV what about having one installed on the wall to the right of the chair,(looking at the photo) and make sure it can swivel out, so when you aren't watching TV in bed it can be against the wall, out of the way. Then you can have a lovely (glass) ornament or two, or a bunch of flowers sitting on it along with your photos. I love how you have your bed dressed, spot on! (without the dark cushion) I absolutely adore the blue shades in the duvet cover and I would draw those out into the room. Love that you have opened up your windows in the lounge. Maybe a throw rug and some colourful (same colours as in the duvet cover on your bed) cushions on the lounge suite as nothing is really popping! There doesn't seem to be any colour except for the flowers and the photos. Colourful paintings on the wall would be lovely too. Maybe the potted plants could be in coloured (as in your duvet cover) pots instead of white. I know you weren't asking about the lounge and if you are happy with it, then that is all that matters. Hi Jacaroo Bunny, I would start by choosing a new floor tile or vinyl plank (possibly less expensive) and then select a wall paint colour that coordinates with your cupboard paint, floor tile and bench top laminate. If they're all completely neutral it might be worth considering a splash of colour on the walls, such as a pale, warm yellow or cool blue. I personally really like Porter's Paints Limoncello (yellow) and Attic (blue). To give the room more of a refresh perhaps you could consider painting the doors, architraves, skirts and ceiling in varying lustres of the same paint colour you used for the cupboards. I'd also remove the window treatments and replace with simple roller blinds - but only if you need them - for sun protection or privacy. Replace the wall shelf with a floating IKEA Lack shelf in white (again, colour permitting), and add a cute wicker laundry hamper in the corner. It's tough to offer advice re: room unseen, budget and design aesthetic unknown, but best of luck anyway. :)

@tonbags.... I am trying to keep my teacup collection within reason by only having cups I use. I use different pots and cups for different kinds of tea. My collections are never terribly precious though my favourite teacups are made with real bone china ( new ones are no good, and new teapots don't pour properly). I think its a little different from the sort of antiques collection which takes it into a whole other league.... those sorts of collections take 2 approaches I think. 1. An investment. You are collecting with the value of the objects in mind. 2. Preserving history. You are collecting with a sense of duty to preserve the history and story around the object. If its that sort of collection I think its fine to go all out! Have a whole wing of your house for the collection then donate it to a museum or sell it at an auction!

Don't really understand what you mean by "Hampton style books"? Usually you have books because you wanted to read them, not just to style a room. If you use your existing books, you can wrap them in various coloured wrapping paper. This will make them more uniform to display in your book shelf. Then have them in various ways, standing up, lying down. With your ornaments. If it is a male office, they might like a different aesthetic, than a females office.
