You could flip the living 90 degrees to the left, making the tv along that longest wall but aligned more left obviously. Depending on how much you wanted to spend, you could invest in joinery which incorporates the tv and books, which then also adds massive amounts of storage. Could be too long of a space for this set up, but stretched out a little with a nice rug it could work well :) please show us pics when you decide!

Yes definitely consider your furniture placement. Your lights should connect to the rest of the rooms decor. That is over the coffee table or over side tables. A cluster might work if you vary heights and consider some changes in size and shape of each light. See some examples below. Your light choice is lovely. It will however throw that pattern all around the room, something to think about if it's to be your only light source. You say there will be a fan as well. This will make the pendants move, another point to consider.

If this were me I've go art deco with that one. You already have the requisite ebony grand. Here's how I'd do it. Leave the celiing white but have a recess installed around the coving that's backlight with leds to give a coffered ceiling effect. Install a feature chandelier. I would steer away from old fashioned types and go for something [early century] modern like this... Imposing and lounge-like but doesn't need a 10ft drop to hang. Choose a stunning dark geometric wallpaper with just a hint of metallic. Whiskey (Mid-brown) leather armchairs any style you like. Tall standing lamps in the corners. Large shades that throw soft light. Dramatic rug over a polished hard floor. Go a red or something similar. You need a pop of colour. Custom bar, something very simple but beautifully made. No Melamine. Possibly with a black marble counter. THis with a wine chiller installed..... and finally..... Heavy velvet drapes with a long drop and pooling at the floor. The club look is about mood, backlighting and traces of shiny metallic.

Maybe this. I have added a small wall to give privacy to the 2 rear bedrooms and this is also why I faced the couch away. Also, The depth of the recess is better suited to couch than tv
