Kitchen splash back
Comments (40)Hi Hannah! Wow I love the kitchen! I wish I had seen this earlier so I could suggest but I love the grey tile, it looks like a successful choice! You could add a marble cheese board to the island. The grey streaky tones In the board will probably tie in everything else. You could then put a terrarium on top of the marble board!...See MoreKitchen splash back
Comments (7)Have you thought of mirrored glass. We rented a $2 million dollar penthouse and it had a dark grey smoked mirrored glass splash back on both sides of a galley kitchen. It was amazing. So easy to clean as no grout and optically it doubles the size of the room. I could also watch the TV and what the kids were getting up to in the reflection of the mirrors. It works both with modern and traditional applications and cost about the same as a coloured glass splash back. You could just go to a standard hight of an overhead cupboard then put some simple shelving (IKEA) up above it to display a few items on this would save you money on the glass and add some visual interest at eye level. I would also do a black chalk board wall behind the door near the fridge. You can get magnetic paint (Masters) If you do two coats of this first and then the black board paint (found Dulux to be the best) over the top it becomes a magnetic blackboard. I see you have a high chair and your kids would love it. Happy renovating....See MoreKitchen splash back

Comments (7)I have used man-made stone such as Caesarstone on my client's bench tops for years with no negative feedback thus far. If you are looking at Caesarstone and don't want a stark white, then consider Organic White, Frosty Carina or if your budget runs to it, Calacatta Nuvo (a marble lookalike). If you like grey, before they released their concrete range I used Oyster. I agree with Focus Kitchens & Bathrooms, you would be better to visit a showroom and have a look at a large sheet of any you are considering. It gives you a much better idea of not only colour variation but the overall pattern. If you do use 'stone' on the bench top there is an emerging trend of running it up onto the splash back as well. This works well if your design style is classic or modern classic (transitional)....See More- 8 years ago
