I think the colour used on these cabinets is great. This is a colour which is unlikely to unsettle anyone who sees it and is teamed with very neutral walls and furnishings. This room looks modern, with a little retro or Scandinavian twist.I believe that if you really love a particular colour, why not use it as a colour block on cabinets. Just keep the main elements in the room neutral and the accent colours to a minimum, like the orange accent used here.

This is the 'black' version. Do you think that it will still get lost and we need something with more punch. Still deciding on best material/colour for splashback. We will have a window over the sink and glass fronted cabinets along the wall behind the island bench. trouble with kids is they don't go wandering on foot they prefer to catch the fastest thing around aka trams lol told them if you walk you'll see much more I don't use trams when I'm in the city I go wandering on foot :)

Absolutely; and dual combinations are becoming popular also. (Rose gold + matte black for example.) It's exciting to see these trends emerge!
