Hi! Are you talking about the panel underneath the breakfast bar? I'd need a little more info on the style of the house and your planned staging to be sure, but I'd suggest something like painted pressed metal or a wallpaper (something robust that can withstand being kicked occasionally!). You could repeat this theme in your splash back (in the case of the pressed metal, not the wallpaper!) or back wall, or even on the door (if that's actually a door and not just an archway), depending on which you went with. If it's ridged (as in boards), once painted that will be quite a nice effect in and of itself, especially once you add some stools in front of it. As an aside you've also got a nice opportunity to improve the ambience of that room quite cheaply by swapping out the overhead light fitting. I painted Whisper white and it is throwing so much Green it makes me so sad I am going to repaint. I get loads of tropical sun in the north facing - with eastern morning sunlight. Was just about to go and buy Natural White just to cover it. Do you think it will be too dull/warm a colour. I do like a fresh feel and contrasting with vivid white decorative trims. Hi there, I do like your concept of a gun-metal wall colour however there are a couple of options you may like to consider before using such a striking wall colour in the nursery. Firstly, the predominant colour scheme appears quite muted and calm, but reducing the intensity of gun-metal grey wont work with the beige curtains. To sharpen up the look of the curtain, attach a bit of bling at every 20cm, possibly using that colour on your feature wall. For example if you use colour crystals in purples or topaz, then you could pick up those tones in your new feature wall colour. Secondly, I didn't see any storage in the nursery, so have you consider working some shelving into your decal and installing wall sconces for a soft warm lighting effect. This soft lighting would provide you enough light at night during feeding. Shelving doesn't have to be square timber screw-fixed to your wall, but it can be a composite of materials (some hard and soft) to accommodate all your needs but without cluttering up the floor space. Is your final photo of the vanity you already have? I also thought adding legs would take it back to the MCM you are after. Would be interesting to know how the silver drawer pull is attached. Not sure about painting it matte black as I thought timber furnishings were more prevalent then, but it's totally your choice. I hope you will post updates as you go. I just love mid-century.
