Plant a flowering hedge right along the front. Many natives have a long flowering season.

It is very sweet! I love those button flowers posted above. I noticed the window frames have a kind of double border.. Would it be too much to paint a thin border around the window frame in the yellow?

You really need to get rid of the bush in front so you can see the house . How about little box hedge ?

Your house is gorgeous give it more colour. If possible have an entrance gate that winds to your front door, with low growing shrubs and plenty of colour you will get the pretty cosy look you're after.

I agree about the tree! That is the first thing to go! The billy buttons are perfect though I'm not sure where to plant them so that they can be seen from the street. My front garden is only a couple of metres deep so I'm thinking I'll have to plant them on the street side of the fence. Or I could leave the cement path down the middle connecting the driveway to the front door and plant them along the path. I have to leave a gap at the front of the house for airflow under the house which limits where I can plant even further. I'm not sure how to balance making a lovely sunny garden look good from the street and easy to walk through along the path. Any ideas?

I am with lynnh100, don't paint all white, and add lots of greenery behind The fence so its just a bit taller then the fence.

I was thinking street side of fence for the bully buttons. Another thought, if you love yellow, why not use it on the bulk of the house with crisp white trims? Lots of pretty yellow cottages on google images.

Definitely a mid tone grey with white trim. The colours you have chosen are too similar. All the work or cost you will put into the painting will be wasted. It will just look like a White House. Look up 'Three Birds Reno' on Facebook, you get a lot of inspiration and see how they do amazing paint jobs on their exteriors. Be brave!

I love white houses - it's a colour that never dates and always looks fresh. I agree with a few of the suggestions to remove the bush completely and then plant some hedging plants with colour along the picket fence.

Love the idea of matching the letterbox to the front door too - it will give some personality and you can easily change it in the future if you ever tire of the yellow.

I would recommend changing the colour of the window frames and the roof trims (including the one above the car port) to something more colorful, but still subtle. Like a soft, grey-ish blue, this wont be to different from your original selection, but will add some contrast and nicely underline the features of the house. Also soft blues look great with yellow and will work well with your colour selection for the door. I think the white you chose will look lovely on the may of the house and the fence. But if you find a white fence to boring you could brighten it up by painting it in the same colour as the windows.

I agree with the other comments in regards to the bush covering your veranda, it might be worth at least trimming it or replacing it with something more suited for the area. You can also paint a few different sized pots in the same yellow of the door and arrange them along your fence line to tie the colour theme together.
