Probably a reasonable company but the sub contractor is crap! Shame as a resurfacing job should look quite good considering.

Ring head office and have another subby come out and fix it. You could do it yourself but you may damage the existing surface making repairs even more difficult.

Yup. That's unbelievably shit work. Bet it cost a bit too. No offense intended at all but I'm yet to see a resurfacing job that comes close to actually replacing unwanted/obsolete/damaged surfaces. I appreciate 100% that jobs 'done right' appear far more expensive. I get it. What value we place on the P.I.T.A factor is fluid. What value we place on the rework costs is fluid, but that one's fully measurable - Philip Crosby calculated it at between 2.3 and 4.7 times the cost of doing jobs right first time. In other words, getting it wrong is brutal cost-wise.

no consultation to you I know, but I recommend you: call and email the franchisor daily; contact your country's small business tribunal; visit the alleged premises of the alleged business that did this to you. In other words, be the one mosquito in the room so no one sleeps until your shit gets fixed.

... and get quotes for rectification work so you have a financial foundation for your claim.

To MB Design: no offense but a reasonable company would not do this work, would do its due diligence on the idiots who did this work and definitely would not allow it to remain if conducted by a sub contractor.

OMG I am horrified with what you have been left with.

Worst case scenario, if this company refuses to repair every fault, you may have to start all over again with someone else and I could only imagine the angst you'd be feeling financially at least!!

Everyone has offered all the correct information for you to go forward and I would be interested to know what if anything happens should you be able to have the owner or big honcho of the franchise, if it is in fact a franchise, actually respond to the dilemma you are facing?

I've always noticed that when a tv show like a "Current Affair" get involved, that suddenly the wheels are put in motion and problems can be resolved to try to eliminate bad publicity, so as a last resort that might be an option if nothing else, making sure other prospective people don't hire this business for a similar renovation.

I agree with the other readers that this is a very poorly executed renovation. Any handyman could do a much better job than this, let alone a professional. If you don't get immediate satisfaction after phoning the company, phone Consumer Affairs or Current Affair for their advice.
