We filled a 10x30 storage unit completely with stuff stacked all the way up to the 10 foot ceiling And, the garage still has all his tools and a late 70s motorcycle which I am absolutely not taking responsibility for! Weather this time of year is unpredictable; Sunday was an ice storm so we ended up just closing up mid afternoon. Monday was decent and today was really warm - 16C - low 60sF - and then the rain absolutely poured down so we had to stop mid afternoon again. Tomorrow is supposed to be rain in the morning, changing to snow and getting colder by afternoon but the furniture and tools absolutely must get moved anyway as Thursday is supposed to be even colder. My patience is almost completely worn through. Today I concentrated on getting the stuff I had no use for out of the house and garage. The other stuff either he can take with him or not, but I'm feeling that he's taking advantage of the situation by not doing a reasonable amount of effort. He's running out of storage space so he's trying to cherry-pick the good stuff and leave all the junk behind...nope, that wasn't the deal! We agreed to help him move, not do it for him. Then, it took me 25 minutes with the blasted automated assistant for the electric company then finally had to go to a live agent and start over and once again provide all the information already entered with the keypad. And, we aren't done yet as we have a choice of service providers so we have to call them too Ridiculous. I just keep reminding myself that it's a nice house at a nice price, even after I have to pay everything to get him out

I will be a little bit presumptuous by offering some advice on helping you to raise your child in touch with nature in this age full of all the electronic lures that keep the kids indoors. or, when outdoors, glued to a small screen, rather than the glory that surrounds them. I am writing a book about landscape architecture and have a section regarding the importance of embracing nature in the preschool years. - which I would like to forward that section to you. Hi Nathan - I suggest you use what you have already. if the soil is poor, plant something that likes poor soil like nasturtiums. The leaves and flowers are edible and peppery. Ferns are good in damp areas too. These would have a deep water effect around the deck. Desert plants are lovely with coloured gravel - no spiky ones if you haven't much room. Maybe put down fake lawn so no mowing. Nail up a large mirror to enlarge the view of plants and flowers etc Strong mesh to hold up two vines - clematis, passion flower, mexican glory vine, pandera or a prize-winning table grape trained up the washing line. I did this with an old rotary line so we could sit underneath in the shade and eat grapes :) I would wash the fences very evenly with white or coral lime wash. Cheapish to make. i would experiment with beetroot juice and curry powder (the strongest stain-makers) to get the shade of coral. Cheers Hooley D

You are most welcome, I have always said that I haven't been put on this earth to "Hug" toilets, so I'am wondering who is going to clean all of these Bathrooms. Our two kids a boy and a girl had the upstairs "apartment" which they and all their friends loved. I have added a timber stair case for fun, there's plenty of space but you will need to decide what you want to do in the attic and place the stairs to open up into a tall space. I have also turned one of the ensuites into a powder room. Your Jacaranda's only drop once a year!, you used to be able to trim them by 25% each year, you would need to check with your council, we were on the lower North Shore, I think you should consider the patio side of the house and make better use of that, is the front deck something you plan on adding because of aspect, and plant some tall growing hedge ready for the apartments. Our kids Attic desk/study space over looked our pool in the rear garden. With respect to using the formal rooms for bedrooms, you will find that once you have your large family/alfresco and the kids have their upstairs space if you still feel you need it, it would make a great office. You spend most of the time there only using only using the front room in the evening for watching movies etc. I have had another play with my floor plan, I think if your wife sees this you may be in trouble, it's a Master Suite, the free standing bath in the window alcove with white timber shutters for sun and privacy control..... Iam' adding a couple of photos of our old Federation which wasn't protected, when we sold it the new owners removed all of the Fret work & posts replacing them with simple timber posts. The front rooms which we didn't use very much once we opened up the rear rooms into a family area. The room with the Bay window had a Baby grand sitting there, we sold the piano before we took the photo. Cheers
