Hi Maria, we love the wood but it is a little overwhelming in that space with the timber floor. A liming white is a great idea as mentioned by a few people here. This will let you have the best of both worlds, a lighter, brighter finish while still allowing the wood grain to show through. You could try Feast Watson Liming White Floor Finish (yes, it's not a floor but it has the size of a floor!) and build up the number of coats until you are happy with the amount of timber grain showing through. You'll probably need to give it a light sand first as it's most likely already got some type of coating on it. The other option would be to leave the walls as is and consider a large, light neutral coloured rug as pompom suggested on the timber floor and perhaps a good sized piece of art on the wall or white wall shelving instead of the dark side unit you have to reduce the amount of timber in the room.

Hi Aleta1, youre getting down to the nitty gritty of Interior Design now. Choosing the perfect colour involves addressing many issues...size of your windows, orientation of the house, height of ceilings, size of rooms, purpose for room to name a few. If you have the time I recommend getting a sample pot of full and half strength and try it in a couple of corners of each room. That way you can see how the colour looks at different angles. Hi Beachcombing! I agree with the above comments, I think a lighter tone would suit the property. In the above images (weather dependent, I know) the internal space of the pool room appears quite dark, with some overshadowing of the neighbouring foliage. A light finish to the timber would brighten the space during the cooler months. Good luck!

Hi, I agree with you, the salmon is a bit yuk. Personally I don’t see the point changing the garage doors unless you were changing the roof. They talk to each other so leave them. The first thing I’d do is massively prune/clear the garden. It’s a very beautiful garden and well cared for, but it’s doing nothing for the facade of your house. Your house is drowned out by it. Now the trims, that comes down to what you like but I’d go for something dark and rich tones. I like good old woodland grey too, just cause it goes with everything. Best of luck.
