Pantry Advice Please

Ours is a cupboard rather than a pantry. I would like to know if anyone has a solution to this issue:
Because it is quite deep, it is often hard to put my hand on the item I need, unless it is close to the front. I keep baking essentials such as flour/cornflour/sugar etc in see through plastic stackable containers, but before baking, I still need to rifle through them and find all the ingredients I need. I do a regular reorganisation of goods and try them in different positions, but it hasn't solved my issue.

You probably need wire mounted pull out racks or if too expensive find storage containers big enough to use as pull out draw shelf eg re bottles of sauce you could have two large plastic tubs that fit side by side on that shelf so you can pull out one at a time to find what want

Agree you need pull out racks. I have a pantry exactly the same and have the pull out racks on 3 shelves. I've attached a picture so you can see how far they pull out.

Kitchen size would dictate, but I find shelving, provided it is not too deep, is more accessible than sliding units. I also live with people who don't know how to close things.

I agree with changing the doors from the garage (if not problematic for fire rating), the powder room and the pantry into sliding doors - either cavity or wall mounted for a feature. Also I would definitely have the sink in a bench along the outside wall - and I would have a much bigger window there to let more light into the kitchen. Also swap the opening of the sliding door to the other side and change the door to closer to the kitchen wall so the fridge and bench in the pantry are on the wall furtherest from the kitchen which will give you a longer bench. I would also try to have the doors to the garage and pantry as close as possible to opposite each other for ease of carrying groceries in. Hi, Go Suga, we do this type of work all the time. If you are renovating your kitchen in the process I suggest that you talk to a Kitchen company that do full renovations, including remedial structural work like this. Taking out this wall may not be a simple as you are being led to believe. This wall may be supporting a load from above, so this is actually the first thing you need to check. With all the advice given, no one has discussed how you deal with the holes in the wall and ceiling once the wall is removed and how to actually remove this wall in such a way to minimize damage to adjacent surfaces so to simplify the filling and flushing. This is the hard part. If you have no real building experience then I suggest you do not do this yourself and engage a professional experienced in this type of work. Hope this helps. Malcolm

I had the same problem, couldn't reach or see anything at the back of a deep pantry cupboard. Installed pullout racks & voila, transformed & so much easier to keep tidy. Got mine from Masters but you could check out Hafele & Hettich websites for ideas.

draws make deep pantry cupboards work, seeing how close your cupboard is to the wall you would most likely need to have the runners built out so the draws can slide out past the door. If there's space you can change the door hinges so that the door opens up and out instead of building out the runner/s with a beading. You can get your local cabinet maker to fit these and make the drawers to fit, or Bunnings have all the bits and pieces to do it, including the euro fittings. My Pantry drawers made by our local cabinet maker, being solid made the storage more stable for smaller things like oil and vinegar bottles. the three lower draws were made deeper for bigger items. I'am about to have the 2 double pantries next to this fitted with draws similar to the photo cheers
