From your photo it looks in good shape. I rather like it; it goes with wood trim on window. But, it would also look good painted, if you prefer that. A white would lighten the overall room, OR if you want to be more adventurous, what about a dark colour ie. navy or charcoal? What did you have in mind for new blind? Maybe could tie into that too.

Did you mean the mirror is new, or you are wanting to replace mirror?

Hi there the walls look lovely painted. I would change the brass handles on the cabinets to match the taps and then paint you mirror a Matt Silver and lower it.

New up dated light fitting. You mention new blinds, going by the photo the current one looks OK otherwise I would replace with a wide timber blind to match the frame ans see how you like it. At the moment the timber Vanity is good, hard wearing as well. cheers

Second idea, all of the above except paint the window frame white, add a wide slatted white blind and paint the vanity white/black/navy.

what is wrong with it. I would consider making the mirror bigger, hence it will make the room feel bigger / brighter and maybe change the light fixture - that to me looks a little outdated.

Definitely paint it. I have recently painted my bathroom cabinets and have had so many comments. I recommend Rustoleum Chalky Finish paint for an easy option (no need to remove cupboard doors). I would at least flip the mirror up the other way, but a bigger one would be ideal. And yes, change the light to maybe a black industrial style one.

from this distance, I also like the look of the wood cupboard, though up close it might be showing it's age and it always nice to have a change. Maybe sand back a titch and reseal? I would definately; change lights, taps and cupboard handles to match and the top row of tiles. Given you cannot match the tile colour maybe a wood plank to match the window or a metal towel rack that also matches the taps etc (see photo just as a sample).

I'm merely seconding a lot of opinions above. So, I would paint the cabinet, the window frame and also the inner side of the door a dark shade of aqua/blue like Resene Astral, Bismark or Blumine. Paint the walls a dove white. Paint the mirror in antique silver and lower it, remove that strip of gold tile above the white and try something else to match the walls or tiles. The taps are lovely, so leave as is and try to match the cabinet handles in a similar style. I'm sorry to say this, but after changing some of the other stuff, the floor needs to be changed to a lighter shade of tile. It's too dark. Good luck. Hope we get to see the finished bathroom.
