Know thy self... you sound like you're bobbing around in an ocean of ideas and safety nets and don't know whose life rope to grab. Take time out to look at addressing a few aspects of yourself : * the dynamics of yourself as an individual and the needs upon you and of you in light of your desires for better feeling and functionality of the space * then let's select pieces, items and collections you feel compelled to hold onto for one reason or another * group things and find the unique story that is you ... your family ... whether letting go of or even moving toward * then start incorporating the reno decisions to compliment and contrast, moving outward with the eye and feel into other areas of your home * if working from a blank canvass then pull pics from magazines and start a collage or a number of boards to express interpretations * another idea is to simply sit in meditation... close your eyes, relax, in your minds eye walk into your dream kitchen. Picture this by yourself, as a family, entertaining and any other occasion you experience. Have fun! Let me know how you get on. I had 52 something similar to this. I could open with little finger when hand were dirty. Mine were rounder so looked like a full stop on the edge of the cabinet rather than overwhelming the line of the cabinets.

Hi there, I do like your concept of a gun-metal wall colour however there are a couple of options you may like to consider before using such a striking wall colour in the nursery. Firstly, the predominant colour scheme appears quite muted and calm, but reducing the intensity of gun-metal grey wont work with the beige curtains. To sharpen up the look of the curtain, attach a bit of bling at every 20cm, possibly using that colour on your feature wall. For example if you use colour crystals in purples or topaz, then you could pick up those tones in your new feature wall colour. Secondly, I didn't see any storage in the nursery, so have you consider working some shelving into your decal and installing wall sconces for a soft warm lighting effect. This soft lighting would provide you enough light at night during feeding. Shelving doesn't have to be square timber screw-fixed to your wall, but it can be a composite of materials (some hard and soft) to accommodate all your needs but without cluttering up the floor space. Hi, paint cabinets white, off white, deep navy blue, greige or moderately dark grey. two tone would also look ok - light/white on top, darker on bottom. Maybe choose paint based on other colours used in house. Please do not paint sage!!!! replace the cabinet handles with modern chrome T handles or similar. Replace curtain with white venetian. paint/cover brick. get rid of brick next to stove and replace with a panel. tile paint tiles white and extend to behind stove. or get creative and add a nice geometric feature tile that compliments the colours behine stove and exhaust fan. put down some cheap water proof wood look laminate click flooring. consider adding same geometric print to breakfast bar and add a couple of cute high stools from kmart or ebay. Change fan to chrome or spray paint silver. replace beam light with pendant light, maybe glass to be safe or something that is modern, meracrtor is good brand, or even just a modern round oyster type light.
