I think you can definitely do this, provided you can move your door which you said you can. I have an ensuite at the side of my main bedroom - it's small but perfectly adequate. I measured it and including all external walls the ensuite takes up 1.4 x 3.05m space (my bedroom including the ensuite is 4.7m long so shorter than yours.). My room is wider (3.9m) so I can have a wardrobe along the wall where your door is and the bed on the opposite wall. But for you, I'd keep your bed where it is and look at putting your bed in a 'wardrobe wall'. you have the depth (1000mm) before the window starts and I think 3.3 m is wide enough ... ~800mm robe either side of bed. See pics below for what I mean. Only you will know if this is too squeezy but an ensuite can make so much difference to your lifestyle, I think it could be worth it!

Hi Everyone, I realised I have quite an expensive taste! :-( as the cheapest 1m vanities are 1.5K+ going up to 2K and even 3K!!!! in Schots :-((( I also saw that this colour is not popular here yet, as all the photos I found online are from U.S. We just renovated our whole kitchen (it's big) for 8K with a beatiful white IKEA furniture including stone (photo attached), so I refuse to pay 1.5K for just one small vanity in comparison... Unfortunately the Vanity IKEA range is not as nice... Quite stuck now as our budget was around 800K per vanity (and we need 2)... so we'll have to go back to the drawing board... Back to drawing board I guess :-(

I’m not a professional painter but live in a old wood house with wood floors (inc bathroom), wooden windows and weatherboards so I’m comfortable with wood and water existing together. I don’t think you need your 4 steps. I would refinish the base including the legs (particularly the bottom of the legs)with a good clear wood sealer maybe something from the marine section - take advice from the paint shop as to which brand. I wouldn’t paint the top of that piece I don’t think the style lends itself to a two tone finish. I would use the wood sealer on the top as well and teamed with a white basin it will look quite smart. If you do paint the top any exterior paint would do the job, exterior paints hold up to rain and hail so should survive a bathroom. Make sure you seal well around the base of the basin. And check the finished height of your project. You don’t want it tools to use.
