Backup ideas for master bedroom layout
Comments (15)Well, here's a concrete example for him. Our bed is 2200. The wall at the end of the bed is 3200 from the wall at the head. I decided it was too tight to get my 500 dresser in at the end of the bed, so I put in a 300 bookcase. The space between bed and bookcase (ie 700) is fine - not ideal, maybe, but entirely workable. Don't sweat the small stuff. Your plan looks fine, and you've got room at the end of your bed for a nice sitting area....See MoreHow to improve long hallway
Comments (10)You could do some wall paper to give it some depth like this whitewash wood...Add a montage of photos... or one or two large contemporary paintings ... Maybe instead of a hall table you could source a long very narrow timber stool either natural or painted blue/grey/white & display sea themed items on top &/or baskets underneath for storage & a large painting or two on the wall. Picking a colour scheme to complement what you have already & using that in the art but keep it simple as the hall is not that wide & something at the end to draw the eye to the end like a mirror or more art on that narrow wall beside the door.Have fun!...See MoreIdeas for a long dinning room wall
Comments (3)Hi, I think a gallery wall would look great here. To start with you could try a console table - which is basically a long skinny table situated on the wall behind the dining table if there is room to get by. They are normally about 40cm wide. Above the console table you would add an artwork or two. Perhaps a lamp on the console table, some nice books and a vase. I like to put open baskets under console tables to pad them out. Its also a good spot for newspapers, shoes, magazines etc. Then just keep adding artworks to the wall as you collect them over time. You can even use a mixture of family photos, mirrors, kids framed art from school looks great too. Check out these attached photos for some ideas. Comments (4)it should be easy enough to use bed 2 as space for an ensuite but that means losing a bedroom...do you have any other long term plans to add extra bedrooms, new kitchen etc eg the old extension seems like a much better location for the kitchen, make a bigger dining area and maybe add a screened room across the back to take advantage of your good climate but neither idea solves the problem of the missing bedroom, could the living area be converted to extra bedrooms but how you would access the clothesline from a laundry in the garage...is there space to add an external door on either side of downstairs? maybe the cellar would be a better location for the new laundry with closer access to the stairs and an existing external (front) door and add laundry shute from the upstairs bathroom but making scaled plans is difficult as the real estate plans are inconsistent ...please confirm the dimensions of all the rooms (including bath, toilet, biws and hallways and i can make a better scaled plan to share...See Moredreamer
