actually i'm doing the school project. the requirement is design the small size of boutique hotel that located nearby the ocean. and the site was 12m for the rocky seaside? so what kind of the material should i use or avoid ?
there's cold ocean climate and hot ocean climate and many in betweens...check myhome.gov for ideas on passive design for comfort in any area of Australia and, as juliahocking has already said, you need to ask what's the question and for any building project the answers should start with local climate, orientation of the site, available space etc...happy researching and would look forward to seeing the results of your efforts
Just finished building on the coast. Delete all things that rust and design for hurricanes. All bolts, screws, grates etc need to be marine grade Stainless steel. All our support structures are internal to prevent exposure and we used sip walls ( structural insulated Panels) These cover insulation and storms. Double glazed windows. Use these products and ideas in your project and you’ll get top marks.
