Have you come across any "woven" art in your professional travels? I have a friend who actually weaves tapestries on a loom as they did centuries ago thread by thread. They are exquisite and each a unique artwork. She works professionally on commission Very time consuming, meticulous and expensive and she also does it simply for relaxation and sells them. Wonder would there be anything along this line available commercially today? Such a "woven piece" would make an enormous impact in any room, so beautiful and unique in a bedroom especially if a design woven to order...but Yikes $$$$$. Afterthought...a painted MURAL designed to order might be a touch of luxury if you engaged somebody to do it and they presented you with a series of pictures for you to choose from.....that would not fall down! I did one for a friend's guest donga in Charleville QLD...she wanted a fantasy and had a lot of input herself, it was a collaborative effort and she got exactly what she wanted. Can't go wrong with a mural...can always paint over it when you want something different.

Thanks for the suggestion, LesleyH, but actually wanting it for the practical stuff I'd like to get out of sight (electric toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc). We like the simplicity of a mirror along the full length.

Alright let's see if we can put this to bed. There's nothing at all wrong or amateurish with your home. Agree seeing photo it's arguably too much of a compromise nor cost effective to move/change the window considering outcomes. The solution here will come in the fit-out and how to balance that as best as possible within the constraints set. You can do it with a 1500 size bath option, 900x1200 shower. and it's essentially a tweak/fine-tune from the idea you had originally. (I shouldn't really do this but here you go/I'm feeling generous today ;) ) You run a ledge all the way around the back and end walls. Mirrored cabinets all along the end above the basin. This will feel massive and luxurious with the ledges/more dimension & interest. But you'd need a concealed in wall cistern. Any privacy concerns (in bathrooms) can be managed by combination blinds/furnishings - arguably much more flexible (and cheaper in this situation) than changing glazing to frosted glass. And then you still retain an outlook/light to your ensuite during the day etc... Good luck & Merry Christmas :) PD

I think you can definitely go with same width and semi-recessed since you would like to have as much cabinet space as possible. We've had lots of customers getting same length vanities and mirror cabinets before for design or storage purposes, and their results look great. I've attached below photos from their projects for your reference ;). Same length can look great especially for rectangular mirror cabinets.
