Ideas needed for my entry hallway
Comments (3)How wide is your entrance way? Mine is 122cm and I have a 40 cm wide console table that works. An indoor plant or some sculpture each side of the table reduces the starkness of it too. Otherwise some floating shelves is good to decorate - just be warned, people (especially husbands) do have a habit of throwing keys, mail, newspapers, etc. in this area. I would not consider the darker wall, while it looks great and makes a fabulous impact statement, your bright and cheerful entry is far more liveable on a daily basis. Art to me is the best answer, search 'arranging wall art' on Houzz and you will get hundreds of ideas. You can use paintings or photos, just choose your theme and colour choice. Black and white can look stunning too and as you will see from Houzz photos an eclectic mix works as well. One idea I picked up was painting the frames in a solid colour - I project I hope to work on this year. Comments (11)I really like the storage ideas, suggested here; as we ha d a small flat, which had a built-in storage area under the stairs. Looked good and was very useful and practical. If you don't need a storage, I can imagine a cosy reading corner; a comfy sofa, where you can either sit or lie down, scatter cushions...if enough space, you can put a bookshelf behind the sofa. As a powerpoint already there, you can stand a nice-looking, practical lamp; for reading or to create a pleasant atmosphere :) Good luck!...See MoreSize of Chandelier for Entry hallway/staircase
Comments (6)Hi Violet, How exciting new projects are always stressful but soooo rewarding in the end! A cluster of pendants sounds brilliant :) they are certainly on trend at the moment and give clients the ability to put a cluster together they love! Also helps when you're a bit indecisive. You can certainly fit a cluster in this space, the drama is in the staggered ceiling heights, not just the width and spacing of the pendants themselves. These are some options on how you can space your pendants, there are no strict rules or dimension requirements when designing and placing your pendants. You are free to explore your creativity with this! So do not take the above as mandatory just a general idea. Some options you can do are: https://www.golights.com.au/sandra-lidner-selene-pendant-light-in-clear https://www.golights.com.au/pendant-light-tom-dixon-etch-shade-e27-32cm https://www.golights.com.au/foscarini-urquiola-and-gerotto-caboche-pendant-light-in-clear https://www.golights.com.au/pendant-light-tom-dixon-etch-shade-e27-47cm https://www.golights.com.au/pendant-light-stainless-steel-tom-dixon-etch-web-e27-65cm You can also do a range of pendants from the same family, but in different shapes for example the George Nelson Bubble Series: https://www.golights.com.au/george-nelson-bubble-lamp-ball-pendant-light-white-50cm-criss-cross https://www.golights.com.au/george-nelson-bubble-lamp-apple-50cm Of course the design depends on what is filling that void for example the shape and path of your staircase! Once you have some drawings or a photo feel free to send them over if you still need some more help! Good Luck with your build and search for the perfect pendants! Comments (13)Without knowing what the benchtop is , it may be able to be cut and joined -- in that case I would look and see if the breakfast bar part can be either moved a metre 'left' ( in the picture just above ) and then either keep the DW there , or under the new 'joiner' piece . Alternatively , if you got rid of the breakfast bar ( or spun it 90 degrees so it raan along the wall ) , and moved the DW under there , you MAY just be able to sneek a 1 metre or so wide island in there . I assume you like the colour scheme , and don't want to change , but personally I find the darker grey ( especially the ceiling roses and the ceiling corniches ) is overdone . It may be an optical illusion , but the veranda doors and kitchen windows look lighter , obviously the dining chairs and even the kitchen bench are lighter again -- that darker grey just seems 'very old' to me , and not in a good way . I would have gone maybe 50% lighter , or even a rich yellowy English cream -- halfway between the wall tone and the gold . Nice but quite 'grey' in attitude at present IMO ....See MoreNaomi Sullivan
