Need help furnishing awkward meals area space
Comments (2)I would be upping the Kitchen Island out into that area - bar stools and heaps of prep space - if you don't need a formal dining room make it a party kitchen!!! don't be skinny with the storage use back to back cupboards and make the bench 1200mm wide with a fewset of 600mm deep drawers on the work side and some 300mm cupboards on the overhang side. Alternately you can hang a lower bench top which meets the island so its table height and steps up to bench height for a more informal dining space....See MoreNeed help furnishing/styling living room
Comments (7)you could have a desk in the corner I presume you have a computer or something like that, and a nice chair , replace the tv unit with something bigger and enclosed so you can hide all the staff you have lying around . Try to get one with lots of drawers it's more practical and it shouldn't be to low , when you're sitting down tv should be straight in your eye sight. Hang most of your artwork on one wall like a gallery wall (behind the to).A large rug would be nice and maybe one side chair or couple footstools for when you have visitors. Table lamp and floor lamp would complete the picture....See MoreNeed tips on how to decorate and furnish my living room
Comments (11)Ok, I see ...one possibility would be to retain the unit as shelving where it is and wall mount the tv on the adjacent wall so that you can optimise seating arrangement. Otherwise I think you are on the right track, a circular rug would work, maybe a couple of mid century chairs might look nice, you could put some trailing plants up high away from your little one, maybe a basket or two to keep toddler clutter in check would go with an eclectic kind of look. If you move to a larger space in the future, mid century chairs would be easy to pair with a couch.. I think try and bring as much storage as you can to keep the space manageable....See MorePlease help me furnish my Lounge/sitting room at the entry way.
Comments (8)I'd ask the question from the opposite point of view . What will closing the lounge off achieve ? It may make it look dark , it may make it look pokey , you have Bed 5 the other side of the entry , and although that presumably won't be used much , I'd actually be more inclined to try and hide that door . If you are worried about a steady stream of people heading to the stairs or kitchen , disrupting the people in the lounge , then why would you put the lounge there in the first place ? Enjoy the space , or move the lounge would be my obvious observation ....See Moreannb1997
