@courton, I've been in a quandry since purchasing a sample pot of Lexicon as it was visibly blue although not so much in the quarter strength, but I too want a warm colour and not a cool colour. I have a sample of Dulux Light Rice quarter possibly for the walls and Dulux Natural White for the roof but I'm still not sure. I wanted to stick to brown tones as that is what seems to catch my eye and Light Rice is the lightest colour in the dulux colour wall in the browns and the Natural White simply tones in with it and no other reason. Will still have to wait till I can paint up a sample but I previously tried Stucco and Harbour Stone and both were a bit too caramely for me and too coloured if that makes sense, even though I have seen Stucco in a bedroom and kitchen and it looked great but just isn't working for me now that I've tried it myself. Interesting how you can see a colour in someone else's home and it looks great but when you try it yourself, you hate it!!! I have allot of windows and door ways and very little wall area and I don't want a jigsaw effect of colour running around these areas and be jumping out at me when I walk into the home, instead I want to have to look for the walls and barely see colour.

i added a dining room extension 2 years ago and chose cyprus pine flooring to match the existing timber floor of my old cottage. Im near beaches so decided to lime wash the floor. 2 years down the track whilst i really love the look i can tell you the finish does not last. It is not even a high traffic area and you have to keep an eye on it to keep it clean of any little marks so they dont damage the surface of the wash. So my advice would be whilst a really beautiful look avoid because it does not go the distance.

Hi there, having recently been through a similar decision process for our Reno I can really recommend ordering the Dulux A4 samples. They are made with the real paint on them so you can move them around from room to room to see exactly what it will look like without having a heap of swatches painted on the wall. They have a sticker backing but I used blu-tac so 8 could move them over and over. Good luck

Hi Adriana, You can have whatever you want and works with your style. If you go with tiles then invest the extra money in epoxy grout that will make cleaning a great deal easier - regardless of what colour/style you go for. Dark grout with white tiles is quite modern and makes cleaning grout a little easier - personally, I don't favour it but that's just personal taste. I would check the ease of cleaning on any matt tile. To bring in warmth to your kitchen (as black and white can be a bit stark sometimes) look at bringing some colour in - even metallics in silver, bronze or copper or even opalescent tiles can be gorgeous and can also help bounce light in a subtle way back into your room while giving you a luxury look with depth and interest. Go to your tile supplier and ask for samples so that you can take them home and put them in the space and get a sense of how they'll work - sometimes the way they look away from the tile shop is completely different to how they look in the shop.
