Very rough but would you consider something like this cheers

some measurements are missing from the plan ...please re post showing all the dimension so we can be sure of available space and i'm wondering about the two pairs of hinged external doors off the master bedroom which may create privacy issues, restricts available space on the balconies as well as restricting the options for furniture arrangements for the whole master suite and there seems to be enough space to have a landing at the top and bottom of the stairs which would be preferable to the winding stairs which can be a safety hazard and can the shute from upstairs be moved and will you have open stairs or a storage space underneath?

My suggestion keeps your existing layout for the most part.... have centred the WIR cavity slider to evenly split the room up... whether this idea translates into something tangible is another thing ;)

I would have to change your door so that it is inside the master hallway as opposed to where you have drawn it in but other than that, yes I would consider something along those lines thank you!

Thought I would add, we have plans to move the broom closet which will open up the base of the stairs however the chute can’t be moved as this is a three level home and this location is most central to the children’s rooms upstairs, our room on the ground level and the laundry on lower level. The reason we would prefer seperate his and hers is due to my husband being a brilliant but messy man! Thank you all for your ideas so far

Renai, it looks perfect on paper I agree! But in reality my husband is not the tidiest and I do not want to be tripping over his mess every time I use the robe or need the bathroom! I am going for practicality!!

nothing more challenging than brilliant messy men and aren't they lucky to find such brilliant practical women...my suggestion include an alternate bedroom entry so that the hallway is now between separate wiw with cavity sliding doors for togetherness and/or privacy...the laundry shute is now inside his dressing area so dirty clothes can go directly in the shute, the ensuite has a bigger bath and shower with generous twin vanity and wall cabinets...the partial wall in the bedroom screens the bed from the entry and the room is now divided into sleeping and sitting areas but precise measurements and wall thickness near the entry need to be confirmed and the small window from the orig toilet and entry have been omitted

If you could show me one more I would be so grateful..... How about leaving the main structural walls where they are currently on the plan but just flipping the ensuite and WIR spaces? (With the main goal still being separate areas for HIS and HERS.) Would you please show me your version of this layout?

A floor plan of my rough sketch. The chute, can it be installed so that it is wider in the room and not deeper this would still allow the chute to work and I think much better for stuffing sheets etc into the cabinet opening.

The ensuite: is his and hers large WIR's with a 3 way bathroom. plus a linen storage cabinet that can open from either the master entrance as shown or the main entrance.

A wall mirror in each dressing room along with Hooks to hang dirty clothes and towels, this can be applied in both bath and shower rooms to help keep things up off the floor.

The wall between the shower and master would need insulation to stop any noise transference although I see that your Architect has already designed a bedhead on that wall which would do the same thing. cheers

Love it Siriuskey. Thank you. I’ll show it to our architect and see how it looks once drawn into the plans. Am also keen for ideas with regards to swapping the ensuite and WIRs spaces around (keeping our hallway the same). I think this could help solve the problem of messy HIS wardrobe. If it’s at the rear I won’t have to walk through it at all! Would love it if you have time to think about that! Thank you again!

Have kept your toilet and bath on the same side of the wall and the shower in the same corner but switched the vanity around...

I know this is off the track (and you're already getting some constructive advice/ideas) but can you centre the bed/bedhead to the double doors (13) opposite or flip the bed around so it centred along the wall where (14) doors are?

I'm presuming this is a new build in the planning stage??

Hi MB, yes we have changed the bed position in the next set of plans (not drawn yet).. it will be on the adjacent wall with two side windows instead of the current french doors. Thank you for your input!

a few more ideas

This is my thought on swapping, I like to keep separation between his and hers so have divided both WIR and you now have the external robe with window for makeup etc during the daylight hrs, brilliant him doesn't need any help! You could add a couple of Ottomans to sit down on, soft edges so you don't hurt yourselves.

Both bathroom and WIR have been fitted within the original floor plan cheers

OkLouise, I love your three suggestions!!! I am particularly keen to look more into the third one as I have always loved the layouts that have the amenities tucked behind the vanity.. I just didn’t think we could fit it in to ours. This is such a neat design, thank you.

And I would never have thought about going for the natural light and adding a little makeup area there would be absolutely perfect! I also love how you have zoned the toilet and vanity from the showering / bathing. Sooooo good! Thank you!

OK 's third plan was my pick as well but I would need to have the shower and WC at least 1m wide

3rd version of awesomelouise’s plan was my favorite too :)... thought for ventilation might be good to swap toilet & shower & widen a little.

amended as Nik and siriuskey suggested and everything is interchangeable and partition walls and/or highlight windows between the different zones could be useful for light and ventilation
