Need help choosing the right colours for my kitchen
Comments (9)I have thought about some sort of white cabinetry too but could it look a little odd with the rest of the house, as the house is rustic? My second thought was maybe oak cabinets with a light granite bench top, which would be the safer but maybe not so modern? I really don't like the look of painted bricks. I have seen some very nice brick wall kitchens on Houzz but my kitchen seems to have more bricks then most and a lot of the kitchens in Houzz mix plaster in the room, which looks amazing but I can't do that. I have found a great fabricator for the granite. I have also found that granite isn't much more expensive then Engineered Stone so I would rather go for the real thing....See MoreHelp, my front door doesn't scream 'Welcome'!
Comments (42)Replace the front door and joining window with a set of double doors - either solid oak or just classic glossy black. They will add value to your home, personality and will make life easier when it comes to moving in or out large sized pieces of furniture that can be a headache if you tried to fit through a single door. The path to the front door can either be painted a colour of your own choice or even paved, while I would also add a border of either pebbles or flowers (e.g. Lavender, Geraniums, Agapanthus, what ever suits your fancy ) down the right hand side of the path to add colour and a visual aspect to your front yard. Make sure your whole front yard looks neat, clean and tidy. If possible, employ the services of a landscape artist. Though highly expensive, he or she may give some quality advice in how to capitalise on your existing garden....See MoreWhite paint that doesn't throw blue
Comments (14)Thanks @mcmahonandnerlich for your considered response! Yours is about the only positive feedback I've had for Vivid White!! I love the cleanness of the test areas we've done but am a bit nervous that we might find it too clinical. Also a bit concerned our bedroom may dazzle our socks off as it will get afternoon sun in winter! Can you allay my fears?! And are you at all familiar with Snowy Mountains Quarter? It has a smidge of black and ochre in it, so is a tad warmer but not as warm as Natural White. Finally, do I need to be worried about the impact of our charcoal polished concrete and charcoal carpet on the final paint choice? If the paint has any black in it will the dark floors bring it out in the paint? Sorry to bombard you but your comments were so apt ... Thanks in advance!...See MoreGU10 Light Fittings
Comments (1)Hi CFL stands for compact fluorescent light and GU10 is the type of pin for the globe. It means you can't use a high heat globe. I would think there is no issue with an LED. Get in touch with your local Beacon llighting as they sell a lot of Lucci and would know more about your light fiting. Cheers...See MoreLidija Cevenini
