Colour scheme ideas needed for a sunny home

Hi everyone, we renovating our house, the house is north facing so it’s very bright. We have a black butt solid hard flooring, Black and white kitchen cabinets and stones. Please help me to choose wall doors colours? Thanks

Dulux has over 4000 paint colours, and what you see at Bunnings is only about 10% of their range. I would suggest you engage a Dulux colour consultant for a home visit, who will give you proper and accurate advice based on your other selections. Not expensive, in comparison with the cost of paint, and you get some of it back when you buy Dulux paint.

Don't make paint selections based on a digital image (such as the photos on Houzz) as there are too many lighting variables for colour accuracy. The only way to make a good decision is with paint samples and/or sample pots in your home environment.

How much of your house re you wanting to paint ? Is it just the new wlls shown in the pictures ? Wht are your favourite colours ?

For a bright , happy colour scheme , if you are just wanting to do the room in the pictures , and you are leaving that brown wall that colour , then I would go mainly white but with a bright sunflower yellow feature wall , similar coloured rug or a couple of chairs ( even chairs in a off-white fabric but with yellow 'flowers' ( any geometric shape ) and/or yellow piping ) .

If you can go with any colour , write down your preferences . Some vibrant blues or greens or purples or teals may fit your tastes , or red or yellow or orange or burgundy . Predominantly white with black , but with 3 shades of grey / charcoal may work ( even with a vibrant red or yellow or kermit green used sparingly in accessories ? ) . How long is a piece of string -- everyone has different tastes , and some colours don't work together well , but without knowing all the info , it's pretty hard to make too many suggestions .

Is there part of the house we can't see? Where is your front door? Just the double frontage like that is plain, but that was the style and not much you can do about it. The homes you are looking at do have a lot of features with opportunities to bring in other colours but there is nowhere with yours to do that and if you try it usually cheapens it. If you take the triple fronted house you posted, I would do the lighter green on the weatherboard and the deeper green like they have used on the window frames, I would do for the baseboards and the front door. I would keep the window frames and eaves white and paint the guttering to match the roof. Are you country? Are here any water issues for the garden? Instead of trying to do something with the house, I think I would be inclined to give it all a cottagy look with a picket front fence, nice entrance, a lush lawn and lots of plants for colour and lushness. The dark green baseboard will be a nice background for some small shrubs in front of the house. Weatherboards really lend themselves to that look. Don't forget the addition of old tyre swans - lol I notice you have small awnings over the windows - maybe replace them with some striped canvas ones in greens and terracotta - if you can get the combination. Don't waste your money rendering the bricks - that look will go out of fashion. Don't replace your tiles with a colourbond roof either as that would be giving you an inferior roof and colourbond roofs are noisy. Replace your front door and try and choose wrought iron bannister railing. Then start off fresh with your front garden; soften it with magnolia shrubs, white agapanthus and trailing plants such as erigon to trail over brickwork in the driveway. Your bricks show a lot of character; please don't render them.

Instead of Dulux Natural White, look at a softer white with a tinge of grey which is Rottnest Island then team it with an anodised aluminium window. For the timber posts on the upstairs balcony, you may like to have them in a warmer timber such as cedar or cyprus. Go for Colorbond Monument for the gutters and fascia to give a crisp contrast. When choosing colour you have to keep in mind that they all look much lighter in the daylight so make sure you get samples and pain it on bits you are reprinting .

I agree get a colour consultant I was painting only one room and I spent over $100 dollars on sample pots. For the whole house it’s worth paying$ 200-300 on a professional and getting it right.
