And therein lies the perpetual issue chookchook2 ! Desktop, tablet and mobile screens all display colour slightly differently and different desktop printers produce different results. You'd think that with a name like 'Tardis Blue' your favourite colour might well sit within 'Infinite Worlds' but in fact a quick look at our Dulux Colour Atlas reveals the closest to it is 'Deep Sapphire' which is part of 'Retro Mix' palette. Until there's a digital fix, for accuracy, all critical colour communication needs to be based on actual paint chips, or those of colour authorities such as Pantone.

Lava stone bench is fantastic! You have great taste so I am sure you will make it all work. As with any room, maybe just consider which element you want to be the 'hero' ie. do you want people to notice the benchtop first, the rug? Then play up that feature and blend the rest into the background more. If you have too much going on colour or pattern-wise the different elements of the room will compete with each other and the room won't have it's focus. Love love your bar chairs as well!!! :-)

Hi everyone, Thanks for the comments. The room is 2m x 3.6m. The window and door are at either end on the 2m part. Was thinking about using this tile along one wall, yes all 3.6m. It is a porcelain slab measuring 2.7m x 1.2m. 3 slabs for the wall. Lighting is good, no option for skylight. On seeing the tile it's like wow! But the more I think about it I feel like i'm trying too hard and forcing it to work. I'll aim to get a sample and see how things sit together. So far using windows paint to edit pictures hasn't helped. Thanks again, Grant

My understanding of colours is that all greys either have a red (ie brown/warm) undertone or a blue cool undertone. Have you just chosen two shades of grey with opposing undertones? This will be more obvious if you put something purely red vs pure mid-blue. Try painting the two colours on a piece of A4 paper and holding it up next to different cool or warm colours inside the house under different lighting. I went to the Dulux site and the colour mix for Ito is Colour Values R:102 G:104 B:112 (more Blue) and for Wayward grey it is Colour Values R:63 G:60 B:62 R & B are basically the same. Not sure that helps, but for each colour, Dulux give similar colours that they suggest as pairings. Maybe decide which of the greys you prefer and then go with one of the Dulux compliments???? I think the colours look lovely, but I don't know what effect you are after.
