Certainly no problem with the sizes as it will look great. Cedar will also look fantastic. Only issue I can see is that it's a 'custom made door'. This could potentially be very expensive to have made. There are many companies that make standard sized pivot door systems. Hume Doors while being a mass producer of doors have a Pivot Door System. They're available in Cedar. The width's are available up to 1650 but the overall height is 2460 which is less than your 2600. These are quite expensive so a custom made item could be even more so. Worthwhile getting costings from a company that can provide an off the shelf item then compare it to a custom made item. Keeping in mind there are various mechanism's available. Some are self closing so they use a different mechanism for that, while others use a very basic pivot hinge. I would also have a chat with the architect and see if they have allowed enough room to fit the self close system in. If you purchase a custom made door with the self close it may not fit the space.

I've been playing around with a pantry location. Originally, I was going to move the pantry into the laundry with some custom shelving and cut the laundry space in half. Now, Im thinking of cutting into the study area and building a wall there, and converting the new space into a long and narrow walk in pantry. Either that or build half a wall and put built in shelving in the study. Building the extra wall will reduce the need to cover in the door way that is currently in place and instead utilising it. Thoughts? p.s. this isnt too scale.

This plan is a two story extension that is new and will basically be our house (parent living in the older part). My partner is obsessed with having room to get furniture in easily (constant apartment move ptsd) thats why the larger stairway entry. The permit is approved and we are about to build next week so not sure about changing windows about at this late stage as it’s been a hellish exercise getting to this point! So Lizzie Ellis, Tell me the garage north wall is NOT on the boundary please! If it is we just have to miss out on all the beautiful free heating and sunlight that helps a home be so comfortable! Here I have a plan with four bedrooms or a study to the west which could open to the deck. Laundry, bathroom and two bedrooms on south and east unchanged. With all bedrooms together and depending on measurements the family room can convert to main bedroom using same sliding external doors if it needs to go west at all. Kitchen now becomes half ensuite and half pantry. The dining table would be better in this position and adjust opening from entry to not interrupt it. Banquet seating might be a good option too. The garage becomes living area on the north side of home with extended decking which I wondered if it could go around the garage to ground level at the front? Please excuse the most inaccurate, rumpty drawing but I just wanted to give you an idea of how I could see to improve your home.
