Help with Grey paint
Comments (5)I used Pebble Bay half strength on walls and quarter strength gloss on doors & frames, which looked great. Not blue. I also think there is one called linseed that looks good next to white skirtings....See MoreHelp !! Trying to find the perfect charcoal grey for exterior
Comments (6)Not sure how deep you want to go and presume both the render and weatherboard are to be the same, you could try Dulux's "Ticking" GR20, "Signature" GR17, or "Western Myall" GR23. they will all look good with the white trim and your surfmist roof, just keep some thoughts about your external surrounding eg. pavers, concrete etc. Good luck posts some pic's if you can....See MoreRepaint needed, what blue/grey/white tones go with light green roof?
Comments (9)Hi Kathy, based on your pic I'm thinking your roof might be Dulux Traditional Colours Crescendo Green or something very similar. Crescendo Green, Cream, the dreaded Mission Brown, Indian Red & Brunswick Green were all heavily used in the 80's when painting everything in heritage colours was 'on trend'. If you are not changing the roof colour I would suggest working with the colour and balancing it out, rather than trying to disguise it will give you the best outcome. Dulux Traditional Colours Silver Grey could work with your green, perhaps picking out the trim in Colourbond Basalt to tie everything together. I would avoid blues with that roof colour, but it's your home so find a colour scheme you love and enjoy your home....See MoreHelp with undertones of greys and complimentary colours
Comments (4)This is one way to identify undertones. 'One at a time, place your swatch next to a pure red, yellow, green, blue, orange, violet and yellow. If your neutral has a green undertone, placing it next to red (the complement of green) will bring the green undertone into clear view.' This is another thing I read on selecting gray undertones. 'The undertones in gray will become more obvious when you compare the color to red, orange and yellow.' I know if you paint a white surface with some of your paint then scrape it out really thin you can often see the undertones. Not sure if it will work for your gray. If you can identify the undertones it will help in selecting a colour scheme, as you probably know....See Moreskru33
