There's a very similar vintage house near my work. They left the bricks as is and painted all the woodwork a sage green. Then they planted a lush green plant filled front yard. It looks great.

I live in a townhouse complex and the gutters, garage door etc, will need repainting soon. The body corporate has a wide range of colours - based on colourbond - which we can choose from. I grabbed swatches of possible colours and tested them against the yellowy gold bricks. The colours I liked best didn't look right and one I'd discounted did. So try and see what seems to work to you; squint if necessary but stand back a bit and see The two biggest colours are the brick and the roof, so see what works with them. I suspect black will be too stark a contrast.

Yours is the style of home that can truly be transformed with the right colour. Your house is already a light colour and it doesnt do justice so Id suggest going for a deep colour on the walls top and bottom and making a bold statement - unfortunately this would require repainting the roof as well but I think this would be well worth doing as pale green is going to be very restrictive to the colour you paint the outside. With every second house at the moment seeming to be painted grey Id suggest a different bold colour in blue tone - such as a navy blue, dusty blue or teal-blue with off white/cream for the trims, window frames, garage door and staircase. This colour combination looks stunning with a light silver colour roof (which is available in dulux roof paint) You have a couple of awnings already so Id add another one on the other side over the LH window and front door as they are very close together - this will help balance out the front of the house and add further interest and character. Paint your front door a contrasting colour as well to add further street appeal. Adding some plants up high in the form of window boxes under the front windows, and one under the side window with the awning, planted out with trailing plants (especially silver toned such as variegated ivy, white flowering geraniums, and silver dichondra) would look amazing! Funnily enough , I think the whole house already looks too dark , and I think the bricks and the roof are actually a good base , but again just personally , the windows used to close in the garage I would have liked to do in say surfmist or silver just to lighten things up . Maybe not for good reasons , but the lighter concrete below those windows is the first thing I noticed -- I realise it will presumably get covered or painted , but I noticed it because it is lighter in tone . The green fence doesn't help , and I'd do it in charcoal , which might sound 'silly' with what I said about the windows , but to do just the fence in a lighter silver or white or off-white would look 'weird' -- you want the house to be noticed , the fence less so . So what else ? Maybe a bright front door , or even a natural cedar or lighter -- make it a feature , at present it just blends/blands in . Maybe 2 or 3 large bright orange or yellow 'ali baba' glazed pots with vibrant spikey plants , bamboos , etc positioned right along the front -- large pots at least 60cm x 80cm to get noticed ! Just my thoughts .
