It does all depend on your wall colour and other furnishings in the room, but I'd suggest to go on the lighter side Pauline, given that there is not a great deal of contrast in your kitchen, it is best to stay monochromatic. Something like Dulux Sandy Day or Beige Royal have a warmth and depth about them but not too dark. Please ensure you look at a glass sample of the colour, as this can vary greatly from the paint sample. Good luck and be sure to let us know how you got on

Hi there! We have just installed a very similar beveled subway tile in one of our homes and it looks magnificent (photos are to come very soon!) With the subtle grey tone to the bench top, the brighter white splash back will provide a nice contrast. I would suggest choosing the white of your cabinetry to be similar to the tile allowing the benchtop to be the feature!

Hi ucheokeke1 colour matching to the tile should be relatively simple as already explained. However even if you find the right paint colour, unless you ask for optically clear glass (known as Starphire glass in Australia) your colour will be skewed by the natural green skew of ordinary glass. If you can source a coloured glass splashback that's close to your chosen colour from a standard range you will be OK with normal glass. If there is nothing similar in a standard range, the only way to ensure true colour representation is to pay the extra for optically clear glass. I hope this makes sense.

I agree that it's hard to choose the style without seeing the rest of the house but that a charcoal colour (same as the island cupboards) would tie in best with the colour scheme you have. Depending on the look of the house you have a lot of options to choose from and a lot depends on personal taste or budget. Glass is easy to keep clean and is a modern look if you are not wanting to draw attention to the splashback. Mirror (plain - modern or distressed - character) is lovely if you have something nice reflected in it. If the kitchen is messy though, it doubles the mess. Subway tiles (regular or irregular, tiled in brick format or herringbone) are always a lovely classic choice - but be mindful of grout issues. Arabesque or patterned tiles add more character if you're after tiles with a wow factor. I personally love stone, marble or quartz for an elegant, timeless look and in a charcoal or grey with veins I think would look stunning with the lamps as well as tying in the white and grey cabinetry. You can also do marble tiles that are a little less exxy than a slab although in the end I was surprised that the marble didn't cost much more than the caesarstone. Choices, choices!! Good luck.
