Kitchens are the heart of s home. You need breakfast stools at your bench so people can chat to you whilst prepping/cooking. Or kids helping or eating brekkie. tables are lower so don’t work as well. It’s not about the view for these purposes. 4 stools at least with backs hopefully and allow them to tuck under bench top to clear circulation to sliders. I would keep all within current footprint. Island: min 900 (at ends) & 1200 from other benches. If u go too wide it makes it more difficult to work. Too many steps. I can stand next to my dishwasher and unload into drawers opposte without moving with 1200. And can work on island whilst someone at sink behind Up to 1500 from sliders if having stools there. the cabinet doors need to be the same width across the whole wall and don't need to line up with the bottom cabinets and drawers..estimating the space to be about 2m with 3 equal spaces made up 6 equal doors about 30cms wide each...it's not necessary to match the bottom cabinets and quite normal to have different sections of wall cabinets slightly different widths and heights and siruskey's idea of having the new cabinets taller than those above the stove, to give the look of a dresser, would be excellent...the cabinets above the stove should be around 60cm tall and the cabinets on the other side could be up to 75cm tall

Thanks for your reply! It will be a cool, pure white on the bottom (the photo makes it look warm, but it's not). This is my inspiration, but the stone bench they have used is Topus which is darker than Ceasarstone. Their grey is also darker. We would have a timber bench installed in the return of our island bench instead of a waterfall edge to bring in some natural warmth. The upper grey cabinets will have vertical grooves as per the inspiration photo above. So the panel between fridge cavity and cabinetry will be white and plain to match, like the bottom drawers. Here is our floorplan: As mentioned, my vision is that it's a light grey benchtop on top of white bottom cabinets, with a contrasting grey upper cabinet. So I'm just not sure the Cloudburst will have enough interesting contrast against the white cabinetry, or will it just look dirty/cream. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello, thank you for your response. For some reason the site defaulted to the Australian discussion forum when I posted but I just went with it anyways and didn't think much of it. I understand your point about different perspectives in different countries though, thanks. I know this is all based on personal preference but I like either option of so I am looking for some other opinions. The developer has been very helpful with the different options and we plan to speak to some other local professionals as well. We have seen the materials in person (except for cabinets) in very small sample sizes and all of the colours seem to compliment eachother but for the purpose of this post a digital photo was the only option of course.
